    claritin or zyrtec

i've been taking claritin everyday for the past 10 years. last year i decided to try zyrtec, and my 370 pill bottle was just finished.

i went back to claritin because i had some hanging around.

what i noticed going back to claritin is that my nose has started to run more and it didn't seem to work as well...i didn;t know if it's the meds or that it's the rainy/pollen season.

however,....i didn't remember any difference when i went from clartin to zyrtec

    the end.

ive been using claritan and I have no problems.

But the key to beating the allergies is a fluctose (spelling??) nasal spray. I believe they sell something similar over the counter now if u dont have a script

claritin works for me, but the way these types of pills work, one may work for you better than the other. So experiment I guess.

It's probably psychological, but I've found that what works best really depends on how bad my allergies are.

For example, springtime in Southern VA is awful for me, and a Zyrtec completely knocks everything out (despite coming with a bit of drowsiness)

When my allergies are low to moderately bothersome, I take Claritin and it works fine, with no drowsiness.

Add singulair to either one and you wont have any issues or at least it works for me.

I try to avoid using any allergy medication because it gives me unbelievable heatburn.

That being said, my wife uses Aerius on a daily basis & finds it to be the best out there for her.
