    What's my play here.....

    I deposited a rent check on the morning of the 5th for $1800 (in person at the landlords bank into her account, like I do every month). We are here 5 days later and it hasn't been taken out of my account or is even showing pending for that matter. Landlord and I are currently not cool....if something happened and she didn't get money I would have heard about it no doubt about, it the second the 5th passed and she didn't have it. Usually the money comes out of my account within 2 days....what the hell could be going on? It is like it never happened...no trace of it.

    Just wait it out and see what happens?

    My advice withdraw the 1800 when the landlord kick's you out rent a room from ken Scalir

    I was on the verge but we got into huge fight about house and repairs she refused to make and I said there is no way I am doing business with this crazy woman. She is a complete piece of shit and I am not doing a deal worth $300 much less 300k. She is trash.

    I just found the receipt from the deposit. It actually says right on the slip that it will post on April 7th (says "credit pending posts on....at bottom) at 9:31am (the 5th was a Sat). Odd that there is no mention of the actual deposit date but whatever at least I have proof that the deposit was made. It is probably some error and it will eventually come out but this is weird as shit.

    WTF do you mean your play? Pick up the phone and call her to ensure she got the rent check on the 5th. If she did not, ask her to call the bank you deposited. Not complicated.

    Trouble seems to find you a lot. Didn't you have the issue with the neighbor? Now your landlord?

    Go fix a toilet fag. If she didn't get that money my phone would be blowing the fuck up, guaranteed. She got that shit. Usually she is texting me on the fucking 3rd asking where the money is.

    Yeah I have a problem with my landlord, because I had to replace every fucking pipe under the house when it went down to -10 this past winter when they burst and I didn't have water for 10 fucking days. She fucked me over and didn't give me a dime when she said she would reimburse me. I am currently suing her.

    There is also a giant tree laying across my backyard that has been there for a month and a half she refuses to clean up. It came crashing down and smashed the side of my garage, damaging it.

    So yeah, if my check didn't go through I would have heard all about it.

    SO WTF is your issue? Why are you coming on a poker site asking why some bank did not cash your check yet? How about call the fucking bank rather than wasting bandwidth on this site?

    Perhaps you are doing your checking at one of those 'banks' with blinking lights next to a liquor store, that is probably the deal. I hear those places take a while to clear checks, especially on Fridays.

    On a side note, you are a fucking clown fixing pipes at your own expense. LOL. Of course, you got roped into that office furniture moving scam, so you fall for this shit all the time.

    The funny part about this rift is they remind so much of each other.

    When you are saying what is my play, are you essentially asking, since she hasn't cashed the check yet, should I take the money back?

    I'd have to lean towards NO.

    Edit: I see now, you were just making sure you weren't late w/the rent. I wouldn't worry if you have that receipt, if she charged you a late charge get the bank to verify the deposit date.

    the landlord cares mostly if you pay...and you did

    I don't know where you live and thus your laws may be different than here in California....but here, when rent is past due landlords must give a notice to pay in three days or move out before they can begin the eviction process due to non-payment;

    if there isn't a fixed term rental agreement and the contract is month-to-month, each party must give 30 day advance notice of intention to terminate the agreement according to the California Uniform Commercial Code...that law is probably much the same in other states...you should be able to research online for the law of your state
    (long before there was a PFA i had my Grenade & Crossbones avatar at DD)
