Don't feel bad guys. I'm from the crap hole known as Bristol Ct originally.
Maid of the Mist made me want to cry and I was in my late twenties the only time I went to Niagra. What a shit hole that place is.
Hey Druff,
Toronto is my area. Here's a good list of things to do/visit with a kid (most of which have been mentioned):
Toronto
1. CN Tower
2. Catch a Blue Jays Game at the Rogers Centre
3. Science Centre
4. ROM (Royal Ontario Museum)
5. Legoland
I visited T.O. a few years ago and my top choices would be.
Jay's Game / Leafs game (LOL) / Toronto FC game (Depending on schedule and what not)
Hockey Hall of Fame
CN Tower
I would say Niagara Falls, I wish I would have went while I was there too but didn't have enough time.

Drop Benjamin off at TMMLK's crib, and take the gal pal out for some fine dining and then hit up a club.
You wont find this in Chicago.

Ben is actually a very well-behaved child, and he can find fun in nearly everything -- even normally mundane activities such as going to the store of the supermarket. He especially loves hotels, and would enjoy a trip of simply driving all day and staying in a hotel every night. He's also very good in the car, and also in restaurants. There was like a 3-month period in his life where this wasn't the case, but that phase ended a long time ago. Basically he is surprisingly easy to travel with for a 3-year-old, and the fact that he is toilet trained now makes things even easier.
I did not do Maid of the Mist in 2004, because it was way too cold. If the weather is warm enough, I might try it. How wet do you get on that thing? One thing I don't like (and Ben doesn't like either) is getting very wet with cold or lukewarm water.
The Great Lakers are actually interesting to me, being from the west. I saw Lake Michigan briefly when in Chicago once, but never went right up to it. It looks like an ocean, but isn't. When I was just in New Orleans, I drove on that super-long bridge over Lake Pontchartrain, just because it was such a weird experience to drive on a bridge that seemingly goes endlessly over a giant body of water. But I'm assuming that Great Lakes are too cold to put your feet in, even in May, right?
We won't have time to make it to Chicago. I think I'll have 6 days / 5 nights for the whole trip, which isn't very much when you consider two long airline travel days and one long driving day.
