Nate Diaz is a bigger idiot than I thought

Name: Nate Diaz asks Dana White UFC for release Yahoo Sports.png

So Nate wants his release because the UFC wouldn't give him a title shot against Pettis as he rides his massive one fight winning streak. Dana wants him to fight Khabib Nurgamedov, but apparently Nate refused the fight after the UFC wouldn't give him "undisclosed concessions". I like to watch Nate fight but he is making a mistake here because no other org can or will pay him what the UFC pays him.

It really is a shame because he's a good fighter. He is just too much like his brother for his own good.

this has a lot to do with the recent negotiations Gil went through, btw.

Is he butt hurt because Melendez got more money than him or because he thought Gil got screwed?

kinda, more like he knows his star is fading and he can make a fuckton of money for one fight in bellator right now instead of wasting away until the ufc breaks him out to pad someones record. he saw gil get welcomed with open arms over there after also being borderline discarded by zuffa and probably thinks he will get a similar package for a battle of the subnormals with war machine.

I guess that makes sense. If he can get the same money elsewhere he might as well take easier fights. It just amazed me that, in his mind, he deserved a title match against Pettis after one win following a two fight losing streak.

look at whose running the show at zuffa then ask yourself again if any strategy is really off the table, negotiation wise.

Nate's just being a Diaz. The UFC doesn't mind/care. No-showing things, THAT the UFC gives a fuck about. Missing interviews, tapings, shit like that. Tweets asking for a release? Nobody pays that any mind, because there's no reasonable situation where the UFC would even half-consider it for even a second.

Thiago Silva almost killing people, that's the shit the UFC cares about. Diaz tweeting about fags or whatever he said that got him in trouble, that's a fine. Anything that doesn't get the UFC protested or put them in the headlines for a bad reason (like real news headlines, not MMAJunkie headlines) doesn't even register.

I wonder what that does to Weidman vs Vitor at the end of May in Vegas.

Weidman -260, Belfort +200 as of now.

I just hope this gets us more Smeetor on TTTHS. I was crying when Smeetor was talking to Serra, WEidman, and Longo.

I wonder how much muscle mass Vitor could lose over the two and a half to three months between now and the fight if he stops cold turkey.
