New Jersey total gaming revenue from November 21 - December 31 released, including casino-by-casino

Marco Valerio did a good writeup on this:

    http://agentmarco.com/new-jersey-igaming-numbers-2013/

This is New Jersey only, not Nevada.

Borgata (PartyPoker) made $3,750,174 total. Of this, $1,904,062 was from online poker, meaning that 50.8% of the company’s iGaming revenue came from online poker. Daily average revenue was $91,468 for all Internet gaming and $46,441 for online poker.

Caesars Interactive (WSOP.com) made $2,380,178. Of this, $1,203,218 was from online poker, meaning that 50.6% of the company’s iGaming revenue came from online poker. Daily average revenue was $58,053 for all Internet gaming and $29,347 for online poker.

Ultimate Gaming made $883,037 total. Of this, $104,287 was from online poker, meaning that 11.8% of the company’s iGaming revenue came from online poker. Daily average revenue was $21,537 for all Internet gaming and $2,544 for online poker.

Tropicana made $748,589. Tropicana does not currently offer online poker. Daily average revenue was $18,258.

Trump Plaza (Betfair) made $427,739. Of this, $90 was from online poker, meaning that 0.0002% of the company’s iGaming revenue came from online poker. Daily average revenue was $10,433 for all Internet gaming and $2.20 for online poker.

Golden Nugget (which went live later than the others) made $179,120. Golden Nugget does not currently offer online poker. Daily average revenue was $4,369.
The takeaway here: Poker didn't make all that much money. It made around $3.2 million. The remaining $5.5 million was from non-poker online gaming (i.e. casino games).

$3.2 million sounds like a lot, but that is a TOTAL for all New Jersey providers over 41 days.

Nevada's numbers are likely to be a lot less.

It's pretty close to the conservative projections.

You have to consider that the market is not fully mature at this point, and in the first month and a half New Jersey just pocketed $1.25 million in tax revenue from what is essentially a startup.

Also, only four sites have poker and one of those is Ultimate Poker which is deader than dead. If you look at the poker revenue from Caesars and Borgata (the other three poker rooms) online poker revenue was 50% and online casino was 50%.

Until we have interstate gambling at least for poker player pools I can't see it blowing up big. Their is still some growth in NJ available and probably some in NV too but it's going to be a slow process as in a maybe a few percent increase in a month for traffic when people would prefer to see the player pools get like five or whatever times bigger.

The numbers would have been more interesting if they posted the avg number of players/day with the $ figures. I'm just guessing and really have no idea, but it seems like a lot of profit from a relatively low player pool.

Nevada earned $152.7 million in poker alone for all their live casinos and this includes online poker sites as well for 2013.

    http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news...scal-year-2013

The $152.7 million marks a decrease from fiscal year 2012, when poker revenue (just brick-and-mortar play) was $160,909,393. It is also worth noting that the number of locations generating the figures dropped between FY 2012 and FY 2013. The numbers for poker during calendar year 2013 won’t be available for several weeks.

New Jersey Gambling Numbers for the month of January:

    http://www.uspoker.com/blog/new-jers...released/7406/

Borgata(Party) and Caesars(WSOP) are the only two Poker sites making any money and have a huge control of the casino market as well while Ultimate Poker (Trump Taj Mahal) is a ghost town for poker but is making some money on the casino end.

I'm still trying to determine if the promotional money (free- play/overlays) is deducted before the taxable revenue numbers. If they are these numbers are all wonky, as UP is giving away $25k a week in overlays at the moment.

Honestly, they are a good metric but I really don't know what to make of them at this point without a detailed breakdown of what is considered promotional moeny
