I agree though, should be a USA win. Canada just doesn't have the team even though there is a little less pressure on them since this is being played in Europe.
I don't take this tournament all that seriously & take it for what it is, some decent entertainment during a slow period. They are kids after all not sure-fire NHL superstars like TSN makes them all out to be.

We can't win every year.
While I don't consider the Canadians a fave, they still have a decent shot at this tournament.
Also I would rather them play more games this year to give everyone more experience for next year. We will win gold next year fo' sure

Not sure but do know losing to Canada and finishing 2nd puts the US in a shithole of a corner.. First Russia (who they should beat hell they couldnt even beat fucking Finland) but the Semis looks likely to be the home team and current favorites Sweden. So Best the US probably can hope for is 3rd because I just dont see them beating Sweden, Home team looks close to unbeatable right now.
yea this is.. before top seed advanced semis where 2nd n 3rd would cross over to other group in quarters and 4th n 5th would go to relegation round. now they have it so top seed plays 4th in cross group n so on with 2 n 3rd

big news is USA lost out to Russia in the quarters.
They will have a much harder time with Finland. I just can't see this team winning a medal.

Would love to see Canada vs. Russia in the Final and Finland vs. Sweden for the Bronze (love the traditional international hockey rivalries). But realistically this is Sweden's tournament to lose.

I think you will get the matchups you want but they will be competing for the other medals. Sweden is by far the best team. Canada is probably the worst of those remaining. They made a critical error thinking they could win based on talent and offense and left some very good stay at home defensemen off the team. I think they were surprised that they needed to play as an underdog and prevent the other team from getting chances versus taking advantage of their own.
Canada is not the best hockey nation any more. We may have more players to choose from but our elite are no better than a bunch of other countries elite.
My guess is that Sweden wins Gold, Finland Silver, and Russia takes Bronze.
guess good thing is its a hockey game and really anyone can win, any goalie can stand on his head, any shot can take good bounce n wind up back of net
Watched the Sweden / Russia game this morning. Sweden played great but Russia had an awesome third. That kid from Sweden is done for coming out of the penalty box and throwing a punch at the end of the game. Great hockey!
