JRB in 1st with 28 left. I'm rooting for him to take it down and also rooting for him to suffer a ridiculous 1 outer to lose out in 7th on the TV bubble (does WPT still do 6 man final tv table?)

For the sake of the dozens of backers he has raped over the years, I hope that he gets them paid this time.
I just went to look and saw Charder is in second atm. JRB is long overdue for a huge score s I hope he gets it for his backers and then pisses the rest of it away in a month.

Bobby Bellande's "broke" schtick is half exaggerated and half true.
Bellande was a club promoter prior to getting into poker. He parlayed those skills into promoting himself.
Among other things, Bobby learned that he could make a name for himself being the "hard luck broke degenerate". Most poker players hide their financial woes and put on a public face of success and wealth. Bobby does the opposite -- he wears his misfortunes like a badge of honor. In fact, he exaggerates them, often claiming to be broke when he really has cash.
That's not to say that Bobby Bellande is actually sitting on vast savings.
Some of the "broke" act is actually self-serving. By appearing he is always felted, he keeps his creditors at bay. Who is going to attempt to extract water from a dry well?
Bobby also uses his strong people skills in order to keep in action. I witnessed some of his amazing work prior to the 2006 Party Poker cruise.
Without any money or a ticket on the cruise ship, Bellande boarded a flight from Los Angeles - Fort Lauderdale that he knew would be highly populated with poker players. The flight arrived at 7am, but nobody could board the ship until 11am -- something Bellande also knew (and counted on).
While everyone sat around in the airport, Bobby went to work. First, he needed to find a way to board the ship. He scanned the waiting poker players for single guys that were apparently alone. His plan was to ask to be their "roommate", thus getting aboard for free (as each Party Poker entry included a room for two). He found what he was looking for in Fabrice Soulier.
At first, Soulier refused, stating, "I don't want a roommate. I like my privacy."
Undaunted, Bellande gave him a counter-offer: "How about I'm just your paper roommate? They list me as your roommate, I get on the ship, and then I promise I will never actually set foot in your room?"
Figuring it was no longer any skin off his ass, Soulier agreed. Bellande now had a way aboard. But where would he sleep?
He set his sights upon the easygoing pair of Devon Miller and Dustin Woolf. These two free-spending degens had a bigger room, and he knew that unlike Soulier, they didn't care much about privacy. Bellande asked if he could crash on the couch in their suite. Miller and Woolf agreed. Now Bellande had a place to stay on board, too.
But he wanted to play the tournament, too. While on board, he found the easy marks and arranged both stakes into the $10,000 event and the ongoing cash games.
Not completely satisfied yet with his accomplishments, Bellande scanned the ship for any single women. There were very few, as almost every female aboard this cruise was with a boyfriend or husband. (Fun side fact: This is where Dustin and Chantel met, as both were in unhappy relationships at the time!)
Bellande somehow managed to find an 18-year-old girl who was traveling with her father, and bedded her during the cruise.
He didn't cash in the tournament, and he bricked off all the money he got staked for cash games, but he walked off the ship no poorer than he arrived, and had a week banging a fairly hot 18-year-old to add to his memories.
That's pretty much Bobby Bellande in a nutshell right there.
And in case you're wondering, he will be turning 44 very soon.
This guy is a Survivor
"As of 2010, his total live tournament winnings exceed $1,100,000"
He is in the hole to Dan Bilzerian alone like 600k
The guy gets by on his people skills.
The guy is probably a lot of fun to hang out and party with. HE surrounds himself with rich people and it is easy pickings for stakes. Anyone else would have been cut off from stakes long ago
:freelewfather
I agree completely, and thus the bad use of the pun "survivor." This guy is essentially a tournament grinder so I was actually pointing out that $1.1 million isnt even really that impressive. He probably only gets 20% tops himself so $220,000 over the course of how many years? Plus he is a degen so I do truly believe that he is broke. But his schtick also works because it is slightly refreshing. Instead of the arrogant lying "rich" idiots like the guy SS battled with who liked the hairy asshole (his name slips my mind), at least JRB is personable and aw shucks believable.
JRB tweeted he has 25% of himself.
Also
So does that mean if he wins first he'll be totally breakeven but win $0 for himself?25% of a 1st gets me even. Hoping backer pays the heavy rhino tax
Or does that mean he'll win 250k himself, and his back who wins 750k will be +500k since it sounds like JRB is -250k?
I like JRB.
JRB's KK held vs AK. Up to 2 mill chips and busted the 17th place guy.
This coulda been the Neverheeb story if he stuck with stealing hellagrapes and not hellasandwiches.
(o and didn't do all them drugs)
(and if JRB starred in gay porn)
When faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself "What would Micon do?", then do the opposite.

Jean-Robert Bellande Doubles Thru Andy Philachack
Level 23: 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante
A rough Level 23 ends on a better note for Jean-Robert Bellande as he doubles up in a hand versus Andy Philachack just before the break.
Down to 335,000, Bellande was all in before the flop with KclubQdiamond versus Philachack's Aspade4club. The JdiamondKdiamond8diamond flop paired Bellande, then the Adiamond landed on the turn to make him a flush and lock up the hand, making the Jspade river inconsequential.
Jean-Robert Bellande - 682,000 (34 bb)
Andy Philachack - 307,000 (15 bb)
out in 10th.
Too bad. Nice run though.
At least his current backer will see some $ and he'll have a nice night out with his ~10k.
Not a bad run but not even close to getting him even so he's got to feel depressed right now.
Charder is still left so it's his to take down.
I saw Charder was still alive when this thread was posted kid deserves a title and whatever money comes with.
Charder went busto in 9th. Oh well, nothing left to see I recognize a few of the final table tables but really don't give a shit who wins.
