Not the best group for England but not the worst either. England vs Italy on the opening day will be a tough game in the heat and humidity of Manaus.

Uruguay are not too shabby. I don't think Costa Rica will get a point from the group.

Best guess is we'll scrape in the knockout stages and then get beaten in next round.

Belgium for me, but obv hoping England can surprise a few people now there's very little expectation. Won't laying a single penny on that one though.


Hoping to make the trip to Brazil. Got a few American buddies I hooked up with in South Africa during the last World Cup who are going. But will all depend on a few hotel chains and airlines dropping their prices. $1200 for internal flights and traveling that vast country by rail or road isn't really an option. The thieving cunts.

I can't believe there's not more talk about the 2 teams that met in the final in 2010 in the same group. They should both get thru & they open against each other but holy fuck.

I like the German's as well. They are always solid.

I am not totally sold on the Asia teams but they seem to do well and get through to the next round as well. Japan and Korea could both get through.

Nigeria is my surprise pick.. They always seem to play decent and Iran is a walk so they just have to get by Bosnia.

I really want to see the next round who the 1st's and 2nd's play in the next stage. That would really determine the easiest routes and surprises.
