Meet the newest member of the Seattle City Council, socialist Kshama Sawant.

Although she ran as a socialist, Kshama is a Marxist and adheres to traditional Marxist beliefs. Not being a Marxist myself, I for the most part disagree with most of the core tenets of the philosophy.

I will say that Ms. Sawant by all accounts is very capable and intelligent, so it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

If she supports the new arena and efforts to bring the Sonics back to Seattle, well she might have a new supporter. I'd have snap voted for her had she been running against that fucking clown Nick Licata (if I actually lived in Seattle which I don't).

I'm pretty sure that you told me the Sonics was absolutely a done deal even after I said it didn't appear to be.

I even checked to see when the Sonics were playing & was going to take in a game while I was in Seattle only to find out they still didn't have a team.

Tony, Come on you know the reality. If half the democrats revealed their true colors large chunk would be relabled socialists/communists including such stalwarts such as Pelosi, Reid which just crosses into Socialist territory, Schumer from NY and last but far from least President Obama himself.

On the flipside sadly there are borderline Fascists on the right as well leaving us a real mess with Socialists and Fascists on either end trying to pull country their own way like a tug of war and the pragmatists on both side in the middle to twiddle their tumbs.

But no, I'll never root for the Blazers and couldn't give two shits about them either way. I don't despise them anymore so I guess that's something.

I always felt bad for Nate. Tough luck for a coach to have a team built around 3 current/potential superstars and watch 2 of the said players' bodies degenerate.

I used to manage a small brewpub here (around '07), and Dean Demopoulos (lead asst. coach for Nate with both Blazers and Sonics) was a semi-regular customer. Super chill, down to earth, quiet guy. Came to a brewpub but drank wine, always thought that was kinda funny. But he would chill with the staff who were off of work and chit-chat while watching sports.
