    Andy Kaufman still alive?

Please let this be true. The guy was a freaking genius. 99.9999999% this is a hoax but I hold out hope for a Kaufman return one day.

NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A 24-year-old woman claiming to be Andy Kaufman's daughter said at the Gotham Comedy Club in New York the performer faked his death from cancer in 1984.
TMZ reported the unidentified woman made the statement Monday at the 9th annual Andy Kaufman Awards show, which was presided over by Andy's brother, Michael.

She also said her father had planned to attend the event and explain the hoax himself but backed out at the last moment.

The woman said he faked his death when he was 35 to get out of the public eye, then got married and became a stay-at-home-dad.

She also said he is excited about the awards show named for him and watches footage from the ceremonies on YouTube.

Michael Kaufman said during Monday's awards ceremony he found a letter from Andy explaining his plan to fake his death.

TMZ said Internet records do not list a death date for Andy Kaufman, but instead suggest he was living in Cook County, Ill., then Westchester County, N.Y., as late as 2001.

The comedian and former "Taxi" co-star was well-known for his elaborate pranks, leading many of his fans to suspect his death was a hoax.

Sadly dead. The genius of Kaufman is that we believe it could be true.

He said he planned to fake his death and return 30 years later. That would be next year.

    Pretty sure he's really dead.

Watched something I had never even heard of before a few weeks ago that was pretty cool. Classy Freddie Blassie and Andy Kaufman, for an hour or so, shooting the shit in a diner over breakfast. Slow-moving, strange, and awesomely chauvinistic, it's worth watching if you think you'd like it.

Can't ever remember an actor who was legally declared dead ever returning years later to claim it was all a hoax. Reason being their ego and the amount of $$$ just doesn't let it happen.

Now many have just put it all behind them and just retired to take on new life.

My daughter tried acting for 5 years and then one day said ''This is enough and not the life I want. 6 hours today I sat doing nothing and when I did work we shot that scene 14 times and the director still wasn't happy with it.''

So now she teaches English in Red China and makes good money doing it.

Acting is a 24/7 job. And when not on the set they're out making public appearanes and promoting their work or speaking with agents and producers. It leaves very little time for a private life.

The woman was a semi employed actor.

This is a case of life imitating art.

Andy had considered faking his own death, but then came down with an actual illness that killed him at a young age.

I don't believe he would have let so many years go by without revealing the joke. He would be 64 if alive today. A "faked death" prank would never last 29+ years, as that's a substantial portion of the person's life (and they keep risking being discovered, before they can reveal the joke themselves).

Even a guy as weird as Andy Kaufman wouldn't fake being dead for 29 years.

Kaufman's death certificate is on file with LA County, and The Smoking Gun has posted copies of it.

The movie "Man on the Moon" (about Kaufman's life) was pretty good, but was a flop. Jim Carrey was the right choice for the role. He even looks like Kaufman.

Anyone who misses Kaufman can see Bob Zmuda appearing as Tony Clifton, as Zmuda still does this at a club on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood.

I won't admit I'm, wrong until I see Obama's death certificate. Preferably signed by Dr Mallard. Oddly enough though, Gibbs let the killer go as he considered it a justifiable killing.
