Leafs +130 live down one
Not a bad spot. Would do again
Mine was epically worse. Warriors incapable and unwilling to play defense.
Someday, an NBA team will collect a slew of those white kids from those gimmick DIII schools. Ya know, five kids on the perimeter who jack 65 3’s every game.
No defense, no paint.
It’s comingGrinnell also set a school record for 3-pointers attempted with 88, one shy of the D-III mark.
Warriors are just an incremental step toward that future.
Meanwhile I’ll hope against hope for a chop
I was considering doing the moneyline on this one, but I just didn't see the Hawks winning here. I had it projected as a close game where the 76ers prevail. And that's what it was, until the 1 second mark. Though honestly the Hawks were ahead most of the way.
Anyway, I won't beat myself up about passing on the moneyline. I took the safe route and still won -- just less.
I will beat myself up about passing on Charlotte moneyline, which also prevailed.
As I am always inclined to look for silver linings in the NBA, today yields me this
MOBILE - NBA FUTURES - CHAMPIONSHIP - ODDS TO WIN THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP - MILWAUKEE BUCKS +800
The way I see it - I am just rolling the following win forward.
MOBILE - NBA FUTURES - CONFERENCE FUTURES - ODDS TO WIN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE - MILWAUKEE BUCKS +225
The road crowds and the logarithmic increase of the pressure that is the playoffs is going to reveal in sharper focus the dysfunction that is the Celtics locker room.
There is zero point zero communication on the floor now. It’s gonna be an epic Kyrie Irving shit show.
He will get his numbers if you’re a fantasy player or his agent though.
There is only one rock.
Last one.
Who wants to play with Kyrie? At this point, he is no draw and his knees are on borrowed time. AD ain’t gonna swipe right on Kyrie.
Bill Simmons actually was the first to forward the idea the Celts might blow the whole thing up. Consider that.
I think that’s an extreme take and Danny Ainge is a god - though the number of GM’s willing to trade with (“be taken by”) Ainge has to be pretty small at this point.
This ain’t the year.
I don't want to take anything away from danny...he's done a great job...the tatum over fultz decision when everybody was laughing at him was god...he found one of the only dook guys who isn't soft as whiskey dick...
but some of his building of this team has come from the absolute fleecing of billy king, who is probably functionally retarded...that franchise has finally semi-recovered from that whole mess...
I lied. I’m sweating Vegas Knights so ....
Jimmy Goldstein.
Nobody knows how he earned his money or what his net worth is. He has never given a direct answer in 50 years. You will see numbers that include a billion.
He IS the biggest individual NBA customer. David Stern offered Jimmy Goldstein the Sixers for around $205 million back in the day. Goldstein passed which indicates he prolly didn’t have the funds.
I thought that was some interesting 76’ers trivia.
Read a few articles about Goldstein. Only LA attracts these characters. Fascinating
Won yesterday. Here's my overall record. There have been some half unit bets (when I split spread/moneyline on a game), so that's where the 0.5 comes in. Otherwise all bets are one unit.
Units on spread and totals are assuming a -110 line (sometimes I get better, occasionally worse, but that's what I'm using for recordkeeping here.)
Totals: 49-49-1 (-4.45 units)
Spread: 1.5-2 (-0.64 units)
Moneyline: 6.5-4 (+7.10 units)
Overall: Up +2.01 units
Obviously the moneyline thing needs to be further explored in the future. I'm going to run out of time this season before I can see how it does in the longer term.
Here's a list of my moneyline bets, ignoring whether they were half or a full unit:
+140 WIN
+145 WIN
+180 WIN
+350 WIN
+375 LOSS
+140 LOSS
+135 WIN
+103 LOSS
+125 WIN
+300 LOSS
+210 WIN
+125 LOSS
So out of twelve moneyline picks, I hit a +350, a +210, a +180, and four between +125 and +145. I lost the other five, though two of them (+300 and +375) were big longshots.
One pick today:
San Antonio -1.5 at Boston
Boston may be without three starters. Horford out for sure, Tatum probably out, and Hayward possibly out. Even if Hayward plays today, Tatum and Horford out is huge.
Series Premiere is tonight for Showtime "Action" regarding sports betting.
Kings -1.5
Oregon Ducks (NCAAB) -4.5
So, I had a season win for the Raptors at 55.5 that I pretty much penciled in as a win. Unfortunately they have been playing like dogshit for about 3 weeks now and just lost a game on a half court buzzer beater and now need to go 5-3 down the stretch to cover. Also unfortunately, they are pretty much locked into the second seed, so not a ton of motivation to even try. I am going to be very annoyed if they don't hit their season cover, given it seemed a virtual lock for the first 85% of the season.
Spurs have a 16 point lead in the 4th.
Sanlmar was one of the early ones to notice the Celtics dysfunction. Though I can't give him full credit, because he hates the Celtics almost as much as he hates the Lakers, so he was itching to say something bad.
But it's all coming true. They're a mess.
Today's pick was a no-brainer. Hot Spurs team which has nonetheless lost 2 in a row, feeling very motivated. Spurs at pretty much full health. Boston super dysfunctional and missing Horford & Tatum.
You only give up 1.5 points to get the Spurs.
Obv
My hate is not blind
I am bummin’ I didn’t check the thread this afternoon. That was a solid idea
White hot Spurs meet the dysfunctional Celtics. I heard the Celtics effort was dreadful.
There is just too much sports atm and it missed my radar.
Keep it up or you will hear from me.
Nothing but LOL's for the 2nd half of this Oregon game. 9 minutes without scoring and gave up a 14 point lead. Also, I must be the only person in history to lose money fading Lakers.
