I decided to pass but I looked live. Toronto/Calgary closed -205 preflop. I opened live wagering. The second the puck was dropped it was -178.
As a believer in efficient markets I had a dilemma.
Eventually, I took -143 or something and had the usual heart attack final few minutes. It worked out as you may know.
I have written how I will decide on a certain game to find value and cheaper prices live. I don’t do it every day but it’s a strategy with some reward. Wait a few minutes hoping they don’t score. If they do, I move on. No tears.
As the books lose their enthusiasm for getting crushed I’ve noticed what you saw last night GBCP.
Sometimes 1.5 won’t be offered. It’ll be 2.0. Only much later in Period will you see 1.5
As this phenomenon matures my live wagering strategy is less reliable. I have no idea what the book will offer.

I’ve written about hockey giving me a nervous stomach. I day trade on margin. I’ve gambled my whole life in one way or another. I never get nervous. I get bored - I’m often on autopilot. Truthfully, day trading I talk to myself. I talk to the other side of the trade. I quote song lyrics that describe the action. Remember, I’m sitting by myself for hours. So basically I had to get 136 or fewer points in the final 34:46, which is damn near impossible, especially when two teams are scoring like crazy.
134 points came in during that time, for a total of 220.
