New Orleans -1 at Indiana - New Orleans is a weird team. They're just 14-13, and have been inconsistent, but have played a lot of tough opponents recently and held up well. They beat OKC, got blown out by Portland, beat Houston, beat Utah, took Golden State to OT (but lost), beat Cleveland, and lost a close one to Dallas. So overall they've been playing well, aside from that one beatdown against the Blazers. Indiana? They had lost 10 of 11 before finally beating terrible Minnesota by just 4 points. Why is this game only -1? No idea. The Pacers are still missing Paul George.
Denver +2 -105 at Brooklyn - Is Denver back-to-back on the road? Sure. But Brooklyn has just been awful lately, and Denver, while inconsistent, is the much better team at the moment. The Nets are 6-8 in their last 14, which doesn't sound too bad, except 5 of those 6 wins came against Philly (2), Charlotte, New York, and Detroit. Aside from a fluke win against the Spurs, Brooklyn has gotten crushed by average-or-better teams.
Miami -7.5 vs. Philadelphia - The 76ers are back-to-back on the road. And they are just horrible, no matter where they play. Did they beat Orlando on Sunday? Yes. But don't count on this team to play well twice in a row (plus Orlando has been terrible lately). Miami's Wade is questionable tonight, and Bosh is still out, but the Heat still easily won against Boston without them last time out.
Philadelphia/Miami - Under 191.5 - These are two teams which have a hard time scoring. Miami has averaged just 94.5, Philly just 91.4. With no Bosh and maybe no Wade, don't expect Miami to run up a huge score. Even in their blowout win against Boston, they only scored 100. In 5 of their last 10, Miami has scored 87 or fewer, and they haven't scored more than 103 in any of those contests. Philly frequently puts up under 80, and only occasionally breaches 100.
Milwaukee -6 -105 vs. Charlotte - The Hornets have won 3 in a row, but none against teams with a winning record. Most of Charlotte's wins have come against weak teams. Milwaukee is a darling against the spread, so far going 20-8! The team itself is a middling 14-14, but they've rarely gotten blown out, and hung tough with a lot of very good opponents. Their last game was a crushing last-minute defeat against the Clippers, whom they had led the entire game. I see the Bucks bouncing back and knocking out Charlotte here by a good margin. This Milwaukee team deserves much better than a .500 record.
Dallas +1 at Phoenix - Dallas has had a tough schedule recently, and is coming off a tough loss against Atlanta yesterday, despite a huge 4th quarter comeback. I see them rebounding today against a highly inconsistent Phoenix team. I believe the Suns are being overrated here due to 3 straight wins, but only one of those (Washington) was against a decent team. Most of Phoenix's wins have been against the bad teams of the league. They did beat the Mavericks in Dallas, so I also see this as somewhat of a revenge game. Dallas is a much better team, and here you even get a point. The public likes Phoenix on this one (moved from -2 to +1 for Dallas), so keep that in mind before betting this.
Golden State -8.5 -115 at Lakers - Okay, so I tried to go against GS yesterday, and I got spanked. In reality, this is a great team, and they spanked a decent Sac team despite the recent return of Cousins. Tonight they come to Los Angeles to face a troubled Lakers team. Kobe Bryant might miss the game, though I'm not sure that's a bad thing for the Lakers. Still, this Lakers team is awful (I've watched too many games already and facepalmed throughout), and I love getting Golden State for just 8.5 points. I thought the integration of David Lee back into the Warriors' lineup might cause a hiccup, but it didn't (though he played limited minutes). Public is against me on this one, too.
Just 7 games.
If I go 0-7, I probably won't be a good mood during radio tonight.
