BYU at 10, this line is easily win or push. It's shaded a little high because they have a 13th game due to playing Hawaii, but there's no way BYU is going 11-2 on this season. They have LSU, Utah, Wisconsin, Boise State and Mississippi State as 5 of their first 7 games. It's a damn near guarantee they lose at least 3 of those.

There were lots of folks, even on the inside of the team, who thought there were better off with Mangum under center last year. So while you are correct to say they are replacing the QB this year im not so sure he is a downgrade from Hill. Williams was a beast last year but when he was hurt Canada stepped in just fine. Point taken though Williams was a beast.

Mangum struggled against the better teams on BYU's schedule in 2015 and padded his stats against the likes of teams like UConn, ECU, and Fresno State. He was abysmal against Michigan, and gave Utah a 35-0 lead in the first quarter of the Vegas Bowl. Utah is closing the door on BYU fast, the recruiting between the two schools isn't even close any more and, quite frankly, if BYU couldn't find a way to win against Utah last year, I'm not sure they're going to do it for a while. Utah turned the ball over SIX times last year, twice in the end zone.
Squally has been okay in his time at BYU, but he's only had 10+ carries twice in his career. That is a huge adjustment going from 5 carries a game to being the featured back. If the schedule is flipped and both Mangum and Canada had some time to adjust, they might get to 11 wins. But coming out of the game with LSU, Utah, and Wisconsin back to back to back?
