Two grown men in that situation, approaching one another repeatedly. Bautista had been shoved. Be ready.

If that video doesn't convince you.

Moving on. I really don't see anything so terrible in this whole chain of events. You couldn't fight in high school.

You let the pitchers take care of business. That's what keeps this whole thing in check. You throw at my best player Bautista - you are doing so KNOWING that you are exposing your best player to the same.

If that sounds fair to you and your best teammate doesn't mind getting drilled - then hit Bautista.

Pitchers hitting players intentionally is part of the game. In high school you do it to scare the fuck out of the underclassmen and then pitch the outer edge. It's also the way to settle injustice like bad slides and insults.

Personally, I think that might not have been an intentional HBP given the score and situation and the pitcher being on the bubble career wise.

Also it wasn't a hard slide, a hard slide is sliding before the base through the base, Bautista slid starting at the base, spikes up. That's a career ending slide if connected properly, could have snapped his leg into pieces.

I am guessing Bautista gets 12, appealed down to like 5-7.

Odor gets 12, appealed down to like 9 (just cause punching is seen as a big no no).
You better shake that sand out of your vagina. Talk about an over-fucking-reaction.

That slide was 100% typical before the guy got hurt just last fucking year. JFC, go watch a hockey game & toughen up.
No a normal break up slide involves sliding with a leg sweep or sliding wide right / sideways into the base. Not starting your slide once you reach the base with your toe up.

Maybe I am sensitive from playing baseball, but this shit is pretty much the most dangerous thing that can happen in the game except for the odd stray hit from a batted ball.

absolutely...but those games are so short in HS that sometimes there arent situations to plunk the same guy...you knew that a 2B/SS would almost never do that shit to you because they knew better...I always hoped it was a 1B/3B who did it so if the pitcher couldn't do it I could maybe spike the guy...fucking pussy OFs always got away with that shit until they got 85-90 in the ribs...you just prayed your pitcher had control that day...

Before the guy got hurt last year & they changed the rule, which was a huge over-reaction IMO, that exact slide happened 3 times a week somewhere in MLB so fuck off with this "most dangerous thing that can happen in the game" bullshit. It used to be called a "hard slide".

    &
from claiming you're "sensitive from playing baseball". Maybe that's the fucking problem. I played middle infield my whole life, including when I was 15 in a MENS league, & while I have taken exception to some hard slides I didn't act like a pussy about it.

This discussion should actually have it's own thread or be contained to the MLB thread rather than here.

If it's a close game, as I think it was, you as the 2nd baseman let Bautista get tossed and suspended given the rules.

Again, Bautista popped up - turned around and advanced on Odor. Odor pushed him back, like "get outta my face"

It's fun to get hot about this as a fan. You want to be in on this too.

For me the best part of this whole thing was "don't touch my head" Adrian Beltre. He is first up and fearless. He grabs Bautista. 2nd round Beltre leads the charge after Fielder gets hit. God I love that guy. He'd take out anyone on that field.

Beltre is a mortal lock 1st ballot HOF

Nothing much goes on here. Let it ride.

Don't you think my first reaction was to check tomorrow's lines. Then I saw Happ. Nvm

Find me another video where the guys back lands on the base to start his slide.

I have been ripped up by metal cleats before, hooray stitches and that was just a hard slide with a toe up. I don't mind a legal hard slide through the base, but starting your slide at the base and saying this is run of the mill type stuff is just seeing this through Canadian tinted glasses.

I am curious how you feel about allowing fielders to spike anyone that slides off path? That used to be my go to defense for wide slides back in the day.

John Daly was on Bar Rescue tonight. His fiancee is getting crushed losing money with her bar. Here is an article about it.

Raptors are anywhere from 30-45 to 1 with only 4 teams left in the NBA.

Has it ever been that bad previously?

I'm going to pass on Sawks over.

I'm a Ventrua fan and Percello just knows how to fuck me. I've been bashing the shit out of that signing and he would go out and throw a perfect game tonight just to piss me off.

This is outside my way of thinking generally but I'm just going to pass and save myself aggravation.

Rain & a postponement will give you time to reflect on this shameful decision.

Your a fan of one guy and you're a scared of another? What msg does this send to the kids out there? That's not how this works. This is momentum trading.

The 7.5 is just a math exercise. This isn't over until the Sox show you it's over. The trend is your friend.

Would have loved to see the Sox v Cubs sometime during last 2 weeks. I wouldn't bet it but it would have revealed a lot and been a great take.

You know they are my home team and I'm a fan but I'm also a realist. The Tigers should not be as bad as they have been the past few weeks but they are nothing more then about a 78 win ball club with this rocky pitching.

Edit: The score is now 8-8 in the 7th inning.. HOF

    Betting NBA playoffs.. Action junky

Maybe Daley can give you a prop for called fouls # for this game. With this crew, I'll take the over

Randomly threw some down on the over about 10 min ago, because what fun is betting the under?

    Go points.

As I was betting it went from -110 to -113 so I am feeling good.

The Tigers manager, Brad Ausmus, seems clueless during the games. Former catchers are usually the best managers but not this guy.
