I told you earlier this season to watch Yusei Kikuchi, as there's often value with him. He had a few rough games recently (not ones I bet), but he continues to strike people out -- even in his bad starts -- and has a 124/38 K/BB ratio. In his past 9 starts, he has struck out 6 or more each time. He needs to get the HR ball under control (8 HR allowed in past 6 starts, with a minimum of 1 each time), but overall I see this year as a big improvement. Seattle has been surprising overall this year, and is in the playoff hunt.

There’s really no point complaining but not making birdie after almost holing one out on the 18th was a real shitty way to end the day. Seems like it’s going to be tough to make up a lot of ground on this course/setup. It also seems like Nelly is going to be real tough to beat. She had chance after chance and even got a break on her approach on the 18th.

I was giving a lot of debate on betting Inbee to win or medal a few days ago but I do think the heat will be an issue for her and some other players as the days go along. I would feel much better about being -1 if it wasn’t Nelly sitting there at -4. Chalk looking good. She’s going to have to struggle a bit to keep others in the mix b/c she seems to relish being the front runner.

I’d say it’s a bit early for that sort of talk. She may be -4 but she looked not so good at the start and the players are universally talking about the heat. Place is much different than what the men played on last week.

Yea man… stayed up late. Even after Nelly doubled the last I knew it was probably curtains. Lydia looked like she was going to maybe get in at -8 if she birdied 17. She three putt bogeyed both 17 and 18 with wedges in hand for her second from short distance. Both around 4 footers , maybe less. I just woke up so don’t know if they decided it’s 54 holes or not. Wouldn’t of mattered most likely. From the shots I saw from the telecast she just lost her iron control after 11. Couldn’t keep the streak through the back nine like Nelly did.

Looking back on this year so far my biggest regret/missing the boat was not getting on the Nelly train early. Women’s golf seems to have short lived periods of dominance lately. But she looks to be #1 for some time.
