Well, What are you going to be backing someone in? Also, is this going to be a one time deal or is it going to be a long term stake?

Try and give me as much info as possible and I will be sure to give you good advice. It would be a great idea for you to listen to the following radio show http://pokerfraudalert.com/radio/rad...6-19-02-50.mp3 Eric "Sheets" Haber was a guest and talked in depth about the backing world and how a lot of it works.

You have to have complete trust in the person you are backing and know that they are a proven winner in poker. When someone asks me to back them, first thing I always want to know is if your so good, why do you need my backing? If this is a close friend your doing a "favor" for, I would strongly suggest not doing it unless its for small money that your okay losing.

If you would like, you can add me on Skype at VegasCarm and Ill be sure to help you.

Expect any one of the following:

    1) Horse tells you he busted out but in fact never bought in. Your money was lost in the pits.

    2) Horse has 3 other people stake him in the same event and purposely busts out so he can pocket 2 buyins.

    3) Horse min cashes but then charges you hotel/meals/tip and you get nothing back.

    4) Horse cashes big but then pays previous backers instead of you.

    5) Horse is honest, buys in, but busts pre-cash.

None of these scenarios are good for you so don't stake.
