BASEBALL RADIO Show at 12:40AM EST / 9:40PM PST on my JTV Channel!

Alright, I created a justin.tv channel a little while back and never really used it for anything except some audio testing but tonight I'm going to fire it up for Live Baseball Radio at 10:30 EST / 7:30 PST.

lewfather will be joining me via skype. I have no idea what exactly we will discuss but definitely we will talk about the MLB playoffs so far and predictions for the AL and NL divisional Series Rounds.

I might take some other skype calls only as I have no other way to take any outside calls if anyone is interested.

This is like on the fly type of thing which for some who might want to listen may not be able to since they won't know about it so I will try to record for archiving but it will be available for about 48 hours as well on my JTV channel until they delete it.

Hopefully it sounds okay, let me know in chat or on here if your listening since I'm a n00b at these things.

Sounds awesome. A china call in to talk trash ahead of the Tiger - Bosox series would be epic.

    Here's a topic.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...ding-tigers-sp

According to CBS Sports' Danny Knobler, there's a "very real chance" that the Detroit Tigers seek a trade for 2013 American League Cy Young favorite Max Scherzer this offseason.

It might seem crazy for the Tigers to even think about trading a player who went 21-3 with a 2.90 ERA and led the AL in WHIP this regular season, but Detroit is in a situation where contract numbers are starting to pile up.

For that reason, it seems management will seek to gain a significant return in a trade while his value is still through the roof instead of risking a scenario where he signs with a new team in 2014.

Scherzer is a client of Scott Boras and is entering the final year of his contract, so there's no doubt the righty will be looking to cash in on a long-term deal.

Sanlmar - The show ended otherwise that might have came up. I can give my thoughts later on but for the moment that is 100% speculation. As to whether the Tigers will go spending more or not all depends on the next few years but one thing I can tell you is the owner Mike Illitch is a billionaire who already said he don't know how many more years he has left and would like to see the Tigers win a World Series before he passes away.

I'm trying to archive now in .mp3 but it should still be listenable for the moment at the jtv link.

There was talks of trading JV last year as well and that didn't happen. Mr. Ilitch is a pretty loyal guy and obviously entering the later stages of his life. He loves rings and will sometimes pull out all stops to get them. I'm not trying to say this wouldn't be possible but I just don't see it happening. If anything his crazy ass will sign Cano to some crazy amount of money just to ensure a Tigers ring before he passes.

Thanks! I know a lot of it is about the Tigers as both lew and myself are from Michigan but some other things came up at times from next round series talk to a few stories about going to games which might interest people.

I've got various game stories I could bring up if I ever fire up radio like that again and if that happens and someone else wants to skype in they can pm me here as even though I'm a Michigan native I will give my honest opinion about anything sports related and am willing to have an open discussion with others who like whatever teams.

Honest opinions? Hell I said if the Tigers bats don't wake up we're going to lose the series, I would call that fox news fair and balanced!

I tuned into the ar chive. Good listen.

    Couple thoughts:

Lew dissed TBS. i was surprised. Maybe he meant camera work. I gotta say that listening to Eck while watching Verlander paint was about as good as it gets. Pitching never gets better than that. But to finally hear a broadcaster who actually knows something about pitching describe the performance is rare. Plus, Eck has no fear. Unfiltered, and I love that.

Fox with Joe Buck & Tim McCarver is going to require many many beers to tolerate. Awful.

Cool to hear Tigers fan stories from the park. Had to laugh at your talk about ticket prices. Your series games are what a regular season game costs in Boston. Parking? Routinely $40-50 in Boston. Obstructed views. Fenway is the worst ever.

Sherzer with bases loaded, no outs.... brilliant. Tigers pitching earned that series. Going to be an iron man exhibition by Verlander & Scherzer next round. They have taken this team on their back. Kershaw is elite but Scherzer has better command and same gas. Simply better.

A World Series matchup Kershaw vs Sherzer would be as good as it gets. Elite pitching vs good middle of the order. We'll see.

I think Cabrera's injury, whatever it is, is not hurting him at the plate. However, it was insane of Oakland to not test Miggy's legs at third with bunts. Gotta work him and possibly take him out of the game.

Leyland made many tough choices that series and it worked. I think he doesn't get enough credit.

I like listening to out of town sports talk. Part of the reason i tuned in to Lew &. BNP. If you are a sports bettor you owe it to yourself to listen to the hometown radio. You often get an insight or criticism that works. Tune In radio is gold. I think 97.1 The Ticket is a good take.

Hope you guys jam in a broadcast with your thoughts on the upcoming series.

I dissed TBS for their camera work at times and would put down any TV station that shows a pitch from the catchers view as it comes off badly on TV. We can't see the location until the replay and that irritates me.

Eckersley is an A's homer and I understand that is where his heart is but at times when doing TV commentary he shouldn't let that show so much as it's National and not a local sports network type of channel but to be fair he did get better later on.

Ticket Prices vary throughout the country but how well a team is doing and the economy are the two biggest factors. Neither lew or myself live in Detroit but it's no secret about the debt of the actual city. It has nothing to do with the team but can definitely give fans better prices because of it compared to other places. Mike Illitch also makes money from other revenue streams in the stadium such as sell $15 dollar pizzas that go for $5 at any other location not inside the ballpark like lew brought up because Illitch owns Little Caesars.

Miggy's injury has definitely hurt him at the plate. The A's were pitching him mostly outside or inside and when he's healthy he can open up his stance which he cannot do being hurt. His injury also of course is hurting his ability to pickup any doubles which he hits a whole lot of them when healthy but he can't run well atm and has hurt himself already a few times trying to stretch a hit into a double. This also means if he's on second the chance he has to hold at third or gets thrown out at home greatly increases as well which as you know in baseball every little thing like this can change the outcome of a game.

Tigers vs Dodgers would be a pitching war for sure. Scherzer has been great all year and JV is on better then he has been looking like what people have seen him do in past seasons.

Even though I predict that will be the World Series it could be just the opposite as baseball is a game of what team is clicking on all cylinders when it matters. What I wasn't sure of is the 2-3-2 format for the ALCS and NLCS rounds. I'm not a fan of that until the World Series but if anything this hurts a team with not as deep of pitching losing an extra day rest over a team with stronger starters later in the series.

I listen to 97.1 The Ticket a lot of times when driving it's the only radio station I'll listen to whether a game is on or sports talk. It's entertaining from people calling in discussing good ideas to some awful stuff that just makes you laugh like such as this guy the other night about 2:30am calling in to talk about being an online poker player and saying he did well at it only to start talking about his actual $$ winnings and saying he lived in Bloomfield Hills which is a very expensive city in Michigan at least to own any real estate. The whole call just screamed BS.

Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts.

Eck is god. He's done a ton of time in the booth for Red Sox NESN since the Remy murder. I have never detected homerism. The guy is brutal even with the Sox. Can't believe the shit he says. You would think he'd be fired. Totally unfiltered. Love it.

Checking the channel lineup last night I saw the Frontline - League of Denial scheduled at the same time as the Tigers game. Checked out the first minute or two. I could not fucking shut it off even though I was taping it. Ended up watching Verlander on delay.

I have been thinking lately about the NFL fantasy stuff and the NFL discussion of growth into London and other brand expansion. I actually think you are witnessing the zenith of the NFL. Akin to poker 2008. NASCAR too.

I listen to women at parties talking about their fantasy teams. Everyone is playing. Reminds me of poker.

Poker had UIGA & Black Friday. NFL has the head injury issue. It will not go away and their is no way to change the basic nature of the game through rules changes. I am already am turned off by the 40 yard pass interference penalties.

The lawsuits and Big Tobacco type settlements will not go away.

If you ever played football and had your bell rung it makes you think.... if you are not already suffering from dementia anyway.

Dial it up and I would enjoy listening to your thoughts next show

I listen to my fair share of 97.1 and just in case you didn't know Sanlmar theres a new sports talk station in Detroit. 105.1 has Drew Lane from the Drew and Mike show that was on WRIF for so many years, it's more comedic and less sports but give it a listen.

Also just wanted to mention the parking prices are similar to Boston's, I just have VIP Parking at the casino and it doesn't cost me a dime, so why pay money when I don't have to? Plus I ate for free at Five Guys off comps.

Ticket prices I'm sure are more for Boston games though, that just makes sense really. However these particular tickets were cheap because we bought them late and for a Monday day game. The next nights game was priced out about $20 more for the same seats I had and when Boston comes to town I would gather they'd be at least $30 to $40 higher than what I bought them for.

I never pay for parking. If I got to walk a few extra feet wtf cares God gave me legs for a reason but the last few times I've taken a shuttle bus which drives you there for free if you have a drink at the bar that is doing it and drives you back for free then sometimes gives you a coupon for a cheap beer when you get back. The problem is I'm 6'2 and this bus is like what they drive Junior high school kids around in so I got to slouch a bit and hopefully not have someone big in the seat with me since you have no leg room.

    BUMP!

I'm going to fire up another random show at 1:30am EST / 10:30pm PST on my JTV channel (link above).

lewfather might join in but he's out right now.

This is completely of the fly but I will give my thoughts on the the ALCS an NLCS that just finished up and I'm sure rant a little on what has gone wrong with the Tigers. What changes do I think will happen and do they need to make?

Also, I will talk a little about the World Series coming up and anything else random I might think about discussing.

I will podcast it like the last one.
