disagree with OP, this is as far as they get, b/c the Pirates
will sell off their young talent for cash, like they always do,
the Pirates have always had the best scouts in baseball but
are just a cash cow farm team for the rich organizations and who can
blame the Pirates owners, their great teams in the 70's couldn't even
sell out for the payoffs,Pittspuke is a Football town, always was, always will be
here you go badguy there are 81 home games plus playoffs maybe your teenie weenie little pee brain can figure out average attendance, 3 Rivers Stadium had 48k capacity and the new place 38k

couple of sidenotes on Pirate attendance--home attendance 1975-1995 was usually bad, in part because Pirate ticket prices were amongst the highest on average in the major leagues
however, their road attendance since 1980 is amongst the best in the major leagues...because they were a bad team: the home club usually realized the Pirates alone wouldn't sell tickets so events (fireworks, celebrity games, concerts) and promotional giveaways (caps, batting gloves, posters, etc) were scheduled when the Pirates were in town...the result has been good crowds seeing the Pirates lose to the home teams.
Rollo is correct...with revenue sharing and selling off star players, Pittsburgh has been one of the more profitable small market franchises
(long before there was a PFA i had my Grenade & Crossbones avatar at DD)
RIP badguy......you should've bet on syracuse and not put your entire 20 dollar bankroll on the hoosiers
on a side note..charlie morton played hs bball from my town. his curve was so devastating the umps couldn't even call strikes correctly. he was drafted in the 3rd round by the braves.amazingly high, because my town only has 8k people in it and is somewhat isolated.
