    New Jersey Gaming Regulations released for online gaming

    http://www.nj.gov/oag/ge/docs/Propos...rnetgaming.pdf

    Some interesting things from there:

    Protection so people can't shoot off huge:
    daily dollar limits for patron funding of Internet or mobile gaming accounts.

    Reports are required. LOL @ "variance report"...
    ... required reports to be generated by the gaming
    system. These include a Patron Account Detail Report, a Patron Account Summary Report, a Wagering
    Detail Report, a Wagering Summary Report, a Variance Report, a Dormant Account Report, a
    Performance Report, and a Patron Account Adjustments Report.

    Pokerstars can simply get licensed to provide the software. Software providers are mentioned as requiring licenses, but they don't have to own any caisnos there to do so.
    13:69J-1.2 Gaming-related casino service industry enterprise license requirements
    .
    .
    Companies providing Internet gaming software or systems, vendors who manage, control, or administer games and associated wagers conducted through the Internet, and providers of customer lists of persons who have placed wagers through the internet.

    There has to be an internet gaming manager:
    A casino licensee offering Internet wagering shall have an Internet gaming manager responsible for the operation and integrity of Internet gaming and reviewing all reports of suspicious behavior.

    They are required to inform Gaming about collusion, but collusion is not defined:
    The Internet and mobile gaming manager(s) shall immediately notify the Division upon detecting any person participating in
    Internet or mobile wagering who is:

    1. Engaging in or attempting to engage in, or who is reasonably suspected of cheating, theft, embezzlement, collusion, money laundering, or any other illegal activities, including those activities prohibited in Article 9 of the Act;

    If you get banned from one place, you get banned from them all:
    If a patron is prohibited from engaging in Internet wagering because a casino licensee suspects fraud, cheating, or irresponsible gaming behavior, the casino licensee shall notify the Division within 24 hours. The Division shall advise all other casino licensees of the patron’s prohibited status. If applicable, a casino licensee shall suspend the Internet gaming account of that patron and prohibit such patron from creating an Internet gaming account.

    Don't expect to play heads up against the NJ Governor any time soon...
    Any of the following persons shall not be permitted to establish an
    Internet or mobile account:

    1. The Governor or Lieutenant Governor of this State;
    2. Any State officer or employee or special State officer or employee as defined in the Casino Conflicts of Interest Law;
    3. Any member of the Judiciary;
    4. Any member of the Legislature;
    5. Any officer of Atlantic City;
    6. Any person employed as a casino key employee, and
    7. Any person prohibited from gambling pursuant to N.J.S.A. 5:12-100n.

    Don't feel like gambling online for a year? No problem! The casino will just take your money.
    Record the patron’s acknowledgement that if his or her account remains dormant for a period of one year any funds remaining on deposit shall be forfeited;

    Peachymer better not visit New Jersey, or she might get herself in trouble. No account sharing or multi-accounting!
    Record the patron’s acknowledgement that he or she is prohibited from
    allowing any other person to access or use his or her Internet or mobile gaming account; and

    (c) A patron shall have only one Internet or mobile gaming account for each casino licensee.

    Some of these regulations are pretty bad, especially the money forfeiture for inactivity.

    Thanks to spewie_griffin for reading this whole thing and posting cliffs on 2+2. I basically reposted them above with my own take on things.

    None of it seems that bad, to be honest. The daily dollar limit could be annoying, but it really depends on how high the limit is. My guess is that it won't end up mattering.

    The account dormancy is pretty bad, but the rule simply means that the casino has the ability to take your money after a year of dormancy. It doesn't mean that they have to liquidate your account. For instance, if PStars gets a license they'd probably have a policy that you can come back at any time with money still in your account. My guess is most of the other rooms will follow suit or it'll make them look bad. And why are you letting large sums of money just sit in your account for a year w/o logging in? I think it's more of an issue of segregated funds. Poker rooms will be required to keep 100% of deposits on hand, even though they could get away with having much less on hand. So after a year they'll move those segregated funds to their operating funds, but still keep your balance available/recoverable if you return. Otherwise they have to keep that money segregated forever. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it's a little unnecessary to have 100% of funds segregated when some funds haven't been touched in over a year.

    Also keep in mind that banks actually have similar policies. If you don't touch your account for a few years (I forget what the length is, but it's surprisingly short) they can actually confiscate your money. Imo, this is a lot worse because you're more likely to let money just sit in your account w/no activity than to sit in your poker account w/o logging in.

    It says "as defined in the Casino Conflicts of Interest Law". so I'm guessing it's referring to people who have some sort of interest in gaming, such as people on the gaming commission. State employees can still play afaik
