    documentaries

Anybody seen any lately that they'd recommend? Been a while since I bothered.

But did see this one about American soldiers having to train up the Afghans in order for them to fend of the Taliban once the Yank/Brit troops go home.

Puts a bit of a different spin than the one our politicians tell us - in the sense of great progress being made.

    Shit hole is seriously unsolvable.

Vice has a new piece about the violence in Syria. I couldn't watch more than 5 mins because some of the images really bothered me.

I recently discovered Vice as a source of interesting documentaries, and was going to suggest that upon seeing this thread title. Looks like you've already got that covered though.

Other than that, Cosmos is an amazing series if you're into sciencey stuff.

You see "Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer"? Pretty awesome portrait of how fucking slimy politics is.

I also heard Blackfish was really good.

I'm sure you can find it online.

I've watched a few lately on Netflix. My tastes run the entire gamut so they are all over the place.

I love documentaries. Need to get back on Netflix and watch good movies. I watch so much garbage tv these days it's terrible.

If I wanted to do that, I'd just watch porn.

Thanks for the shouts gents. Love anything to do with the universe - and even shady politics. Syria is a different matter though. Important that we're aware of just how fucked up it is over there. But watching kids in distress is obv tough to watch.

Plenty of hours to kill over the next week. Will get stuck in.

I didn't think Micon had done any work since his shower scene in the Jerry Sandusky documentary.
