Heart disease, cancer, then medical errors as the three leading causes of death in the US. I doubt they're counting all these prescription opiate deaths as medical errors.

I wonder whether the overwhelming conversion of US hospitals from non-profit to for-profit entities over the last few decades has contributed to this risk.

this is from the Redhook Crit in brooklyn last week. If you look closely at the back right, you'll see a guy in a tie dye shirt at the back of the pile. That's my boss. I'm a bike messenger in a big midwestern city and this is how we roll.

the moto ran out of gas. then they restarted and there was another crash. Shit's dangerous as hell. Even I won't race it. All fixed gear bikes (which means no brakes, no gears, just pure biking).
