just watched jobs w/ a. kutcher

very entertaining. this flick might be nominated for some awards. wouldn't surprise me to see kutcher get a best actor nomination, or this film be considered best picture.

some things i didn't like, but it was overall a better than watching the ny giants.

if wall street could win best picture, this flick can.

you obviously dont read the reviews as the movie has been savaged by the critics and the tech blogosphere

it has been described as a b grade telemovie based on more on fiction than fact and that kutcher actually ruined the movie with his inept performance

There won't be an Oscar campaign for this movie.

I don't think faking your death to maximize profits works in the pimping webcam ho's business. I could be wrong though.

I kind of want to see this

What are the options to watch this?

    Online anywhere?

I could have sworn I saw it on my ATT Uverse on demand lineup one day, and then it was gone - however maybe I was just seeing things, who knows.

proilly all the movies that will be nominated and/or win will be released now>december...i'm sure some stupid, boring gay flick will win. like the english patient. hank hill once said- you don't have to be english to watch it, but you have to be patient as hell.

I understand your unwillingness to be seen in public watching an Ashton Kutcher flick.

Kutcher is a great method actor. Method actors are often characterised as immersing themselves in their characters, to the extent that they stay in character offstage or off-camera for the duration of a project. Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Robert De Niro, Pacino is another. Inhabits the characters soul. Well, don't rely on me to explain it.

Taken from the ABC News website:

Kutcher, 35, lost 18 pounds for the role by following the same fruitarian diet as Jobs, who died in 2011 at age 56. He also personified Jobs in other ways, he told reporters at a news conference earlier this month.

"I started consuming the things that he consumed, I started studying entrepreneurs he admired, listening to the music he listed to, eating the food he ate and walking the way he walked,” Kutcher said. ”He’d go for a walk when he wanted to have a meeting with someone and I just started doing that and started walking without shoes on and wearing Birkenstocks and going for one-hour walks every day.”

Now if Kutcher woulda contracted cancer maybe CBS could finally get out their contract with him for Two and a Half Men and bring back Charlie Sheen and reverse one of the great casting tragedies of the early 21st century.

    My patience is wearing thin.

Bad read. I have nothing against Ashton. Never had. I think he is actually highly intelligent. And after the hof speech he gave at the Teen Choice Awards, I have nothing but even more respect for him.

Furthermore when I heard that he played Steve Jobs, all I was thinking was that this guy was going to nail it.

Here I was simply trying to find an avenue to be able to watch the movie without going to a theater. that's it. I thought I saw something on on demand but maybe it was just a promo or something.

BGC, I have been following your rant regarding Timberlake. I refrained from comment while I surfed Pornhub to stress test my sexual orientation. Satisfied that I am running within acceptable variance, I feel confident enough to stand up for Timberlake.

Wife has dragged me to a number of his movies. I did so only to collect a little quid pro quo at a later date. I found myself admitting finally that the dude has talent when I saw his performance as Sean Parker, the Napster savant, in The Social Network.

If being a member of the Boston based boy band forever blacklists him then where does that leave Mark Whalberg former frontman for Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch?

The Basketball Diaries, Boogie Nights, The Perfect Storm, and The Italian Job. Academy Award in the The Departed

Now, here's the test: What did you think of Entourage, loosely based on Wahlberg's experiences as an up-and-coming film star? Tread lightly, son. I thought the first couple of seasons were fantastic.

It's prolly just a Boston thing.

Im through about 3/4 of the movie and can say I am just pretty disappointed

I was originally interested in watching the movie because of the story of the past 30+ years that it would be telling - which I think is a great story.

The movie though is just lacking on so many levels. It could have been so much better

I think Kutcher was doing the best with what he had in this case. No, he is not going to win any awards - but I don't think it is really his fault. I don't know where to begin, but in short I just think the format, directing, etc etc just sucks.

EDIT: I reread what I wrote and maybe I was a bit harsh, but I guess the main problem was that I guess I was expecting soo much more. I just thought there was so much potential here.

The issue with the movie it they spanned it too long. The movie basically went from 1973-1997. They should have focused on either the birth of Apple or the latter years. They basically tried to condense 25 years into a 2 hour movie. That rarely works. They should have focused on a particular time period.

I found the most interesting portion of the movie was when Jobs returned after being exiled for 10 years. Jumping around decade to decade to decade is not practical for a two hour movie. Not only to you have to age the actors, you have to age the time period, with the actors wearing different clothes, hair styles, etc.. It just looks too fake.

I was not a fan of the movie at all, and I don't blame Kutcher. He did the best he could with that script. Tough to play a 21 year old college student, and someone in his 40s in the same movie.
