    Alabama vs Texas A&M

Holy fucking shit what a game. A&M jumps out early and looks like they're going to destroy Bama, but then the Tide score 35 unanswered. Then A&M comes back and scores late to have a chance to tie. Early favorite for game of the year imo.

It may just be the fact that I'm an Alabama fan, but I do believe that AJ McCarron is the best clutch QB in college football. He's not the best or the most talented he just shows up whenever a big drive is needed.

Was pretty ballsy of McCarron to call that play action pass on 3rd and goal -- completely caught A&M off guard too. Guy just waltzed into the endzone to seal the game.

bama was +150 on the moneyline when they were down 14-0...

glad there was no way to bet on that one...not that that was the easiest money this gambling year...

Bama is 4-5 in the regular season against SEC teams who have finished ranked over the past 3 years.

They also gave up over 600 yards of offense yesterday.

    Dynasty?

Alabama has flaws. They just have fewer flaws than anyone else.

Definitely this. That's why the game was so good to me. With the exception of A&M and LSU last year, Alabama was never in trouble so to see them have to rally from a 14 point hole and then hold off a surge at the end is incredible.

Also, for Devidee, the word dynasty implies greatness over a period of time. Saban has 3 titles in the last 4 years and just beat the #6 team in the country while breaking in a new O-line and with an undersized secondary against one of the top offenses in college football. So yes if they continue to progress and make it to the title game again and beat most likely Oregon or Ohio State then you can use the D word.

Most boring hyped supergame ever. Exciting all the way up until Alabama tied it at 14, and then the game was never in question. Sure, lots of points, but AM had no prayer to ever make two defensive stands in a row once the game went to Bama by 14.

Like Texas did? Like LSU did? Like Notre Dame did? Like Oregon did against Auburn?

Until proven otherwise, don't doubt Saban in a title game.

Definite possibility. He's a great qb in a league that isn't really known for playing defense.

i wonder how much the ducks would score if they played a team in a league that was

It all depends. If they were in a different league then they would have adapted in different ways. For the sake of argument, if they played in the SEC, they would probably have to run a bit more to free up the passing so it would affect the qb's stats somewhat. It just so happens that they will suffer from theoreticals like that because of their league.

Bama just played a league game in which 91 points were scored.

I'm not exactly sure the SEC should be known for great defense anymore.

Is Tennessee known for playing defense?

You can't be serious. They're on their third head coach in four years and are coming off a 5-7 season that was preceded by a 5-7 that was preceded by a 6-7 season. Tennessee hasn't been an upper tier SEC team since 2007. Oregon may as well have been playing Kentucky if the SEC wanted to be represented like that.

And Bama giving up over 600 yards and 40 points?

UGA has given up 30 twice.

A&M doesn't even pretend to play defense.

LSU gave up twice as many points to TCU than Texas Tech did.

Playing against a Heisman winner with a receiver that dwarfed their corners and safeties.
UGA has given up 30 twice.
Against the #8 and #6 teams in consecutive weeks.
A&M doesn't even pretend to play defense.
Been in the SEC for one year.
LSU gave up twice as many points to TCU than Texas Tech did.
I've never been a believer in Les Miles.
In the words of Joey Tribiani "it's a moo point anyways". Oregon is one thing but Ohio State will fold like a cheap suit if they play the SEC champ in the BCS title game.

Do you think A&M's offense is better than Oregon's?

Are you telling me South Carolina's offense is so high powered that it's acceptable to give up 30 points to them. On the flip side, how bad is South Carolina's defense that they gave up 41 points.

The only defense in the SEC that you can tout right now is Florida's.

Never said A&M had a better offense. If they were to play each other in a one off game, I would say they are somewhat even. Over the course of a season, Oregon has the advantage because their offense uses more players and has a legitimate running game outside of the qb position . A&M relies completely on Manziel and Davis. If either of them gets hurt the offense is fucked.

My point is that if A&M put 42 on Bama's defense how many do you think Oregon would run up?

I actually think Oregon has a better defense than A&M as well.
