Database errors tonight, I think it's all fixed

You probably noticed that PFA was down between about 8:30pm and 1:30am PDT tonight.

Unfortunately, the database became corrupt here, and it was very difficult to fix. I think I finally got a handle on it.

If you see any weird behavior out of the system, please let me know. I had to cobble together some old backup entries along with the newer unaffected entries, so we didn't lose any posts or PMs.

Please check your PM box and let me know if everything is there as it should be.

I actually could have simply restored the entire system as it was 2 days ago (the time of the last backup), but I decided to spend these hours restoring it the way it was at the time of the crash. Probably a waste of time, but I hated the idea of losing content, including everyone's posts and PMs over the past 2 days.

Please let me know ASAP if things aren't working right here, as I will then have to give up and restore from the backup of the early morning of September 10th.

That's really weird. So that popped up, you just ignored it, and everything was ok from there?

It was really weird and something I've never seen before but other then that everything appears completely normal but if I see anything unique in the next few days I will post back in this thread.

One of the aggravating factors of this database issue was that my own account went corrupt, and it caused a big chain reaction of fail when I attempted to restore it.

Seems to be better now, though.
