carolina @ buffalo & nyj @ new england

i'm a little stumped at this line....carolina favored by 2.5 on the road..very unusual pointspread set on this game. reading between the lines and nit evaluating the game suggest a carolina win here.

btw,..jets opened up @ +10..and you should've ran to the windows seeing that throwing $$$ on the pats. i would give 20 and feel comfortable. jets shouldn't score more that one offensive TD and should be held to <14 points..providing new england doesn't run it up offensively and lax on defense because of it.

china,..i can't believe you're backing the under here. pats can have 30 at the half if they wanted.

i would look for alternative point spreads....i wouldn't be surprised to see a shutout or a 30pt victory..

i'm on the pats giving <2td's..it they're only giving 10 it's money truck time

it opened there, and you said it your post that you thought it would go down. i personally would worry it's going to go up.

foolish to back the jets here. foolish to think that new england can't score many points because of welker/gronk/hernandez being gone..

this team is plug and play.

and if amendola plays anything like last week, nobody will miss welker

Well Amendola isnt playing although it is the Pats and all they do is lie, but where is there? I think it opened at 13 or 13.5 on Bovada went down and now its back to 13 105.

Where the action is: Bettors fading injured Patriots

What was supposed to be a sure thing for the New England Patriots is looking less and less like an easy win, when the beleaguered Pats host the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.

New England suffered through an awful offseason and nearly got knocked off in the opener versus Buffalo. Now, the Patriots are down two offensive weapons – RB Shane Vereen and WR Danny Amendola - and the betting public is showing their lack of faith in New England.

We talk to sportsbooks about the action coming in on this AFC East rivalry and where they expect the odds to close come kickoff Thursday night:

New York Jets at New England Patriots – Open: -12, Move: -13.5, Move: -11

Both the Jets and Patriots picked up wins in Week 1 but only one of those victories is being seen as a positive. Oddsmakers opened New England as a 12-point favorite after narrowly avoided an upset at the hands of the Bills and early money moved that spread just under two touchdowns.

However, once injury news got out on Vereen and Amendola, New York bettors came out of the shadows and trimmed this line as many as 2.5 points. New England is already missing many key weapons and will need its unknown skill players to step up on the big stage.

“As expected the money kept on coming for the Jets with the line shifting to 11.5, which has slowed the bettors down,” Russ Candler, head of trading at UWin.com told Covers. “It might not be enough for the line to hold at 11.5 and we’re certain the line will go off around the -11 mark. The early morning money will have a big say on the final number.”

The total has also shrunk in the past day, dropping as low as 42.5 after opening as high as 44.5 points. Both the Jets and Patriots played under the number in their Week 1 contests, however, New England boasted the fast-paced offense and was the best over bet in the NFL last season, going 11-5 over/under.

“After it was announced Danny Amendola wouldn’t play, the total dropped to 43.5 with 68 percent still on over,” Mike Perry of Sportsbook.com told Covers.

"The punters have attacked the point totals, taking the overs. Shoot out here we come," says Candler.

The Patriots are seeing the majority of action on the moneyline, even more so after books trimmed their straight-up price from as high as -750 to -588. According to Sportsbook.com, 88 percent of moneyline wagers are on New England.

pats were pretty much dominated at home on both sides of the ball. miracle you can only score 1td and win..their defense was bending all over the place and they had zero offense..this is troublesome, because the jets aren't suppose to come to foxboro and push them around like they did...pats did their best to lose this game, but geno fucked it up.

Losing Shane Vereen really fucked the Patriots. 40 yards from Ridley and 11 from Blount are not going to cut it against good teams.

Absolutely wretched game, made worse by the weather.

Pretty much every Thursday night game I have seen (probably about 70% over last 2 years) have been awful.

i think your colts are going to lose to miami this week. pointspread suggests miami is a playoff team this year...the colts should be a solid 3-5pt favorite and they're not. just handicapping the line says miami all the way

The Pats are more than one player away from mediocrity. They were awful against Buffalo with Vereen. Edelman is not very durable. Can you imagine Edelman going down? The betting public will need to punished some more before they accept the truth.

Tebow knows Rex's caller ID. He's waiting for the call. Smith was awful. Tebow may have won that game on the ground.

I'm definitely not betting on the Colts. I expect that to be a good game.

The Patriots were not impressive in week 1. But Vereen had the second most rushing yards of any RB. Removing him makes them way worse.

How's that working out for ya btw. So far they've basically won 2 games barely due to total ineptness by Buffalo and the Jets. Both teams should've been trounced and they've squeeked by with a lucksack FG and now a implosion by Geno Smith. If I was Bellichek Id be shitting in my boots praying my GM finds me somebody for Brady to throw to and quick. They wont be so lucky against a team that actually has its shit together.

**Hit both sides of my 2 bet parlay took Jets and the 10.5 plus the Under**

Carolina line is interesting but they nearly beat a quality Seattle team so I'm not really surprised they are a favorite @ Buffalo.

As for the Pats they haven't impressed me one bit so far.

i am surprised they are a 2.5 fav.just as much as i;m surprised miami is getting 1>2.5 rather than 3.5>5

..they're basically telling you miamii s better than the colts by putting this game closer to a pk than a FG+..what's even more alarming is the indy is great at home and it's still being done.

whether it's true (miami being better), and most would say it isn't..that's what they're saying..and just for haha'a how the hell does indy almost lose @ home to oak w/ richard fucking pryor at QB?

Huh? You have had 18 games to judge this Indy team, 9 have been at home. That's a small sample size. I'm guessing you're still referring to the Peyton/Dungy years with that blanket statement, which makes no sense at all.
