    Washing Machine DD

So not too long ago the fridge broke down and now the washing machine shits the bed. More or less it won't go the final spin cycle and clothes are coming out super wet. Sometimes if I run the spin cycle again it will spin but other times it won't.

After a little research it would cost $100 to get a repairman through the door and then whatever parts and labor to fix it. Machine was bought 7 years ago for $500 so I have made the decision to buy a new one rather than have it repaired.

Any suggestions on what to buy or what not to buy as far as models go? FWIW it will have to be a front loader and will have a dryer stacked on top

Post a current pic of yourself. I have a hard time believing you can't get a bitch to do this implementation.

I bought an Amana dryer, which is the cheap brand owned by Maytag-Whirlpool. I figured it used all of the same internal parts as their more expensive models. Wrong. It took 3 cycles to actually dry clothes.

about $1100 needed to buy a new one i think, ours is a Maytag stacked washer-dryer...so you might want to get yours repaired.

Ours is still going strong after 13 years and two repair jobs of $250 each
(long before there was a PFA i had my Grenade & Crossbones avatar at DD)

I bet it is but that is an all in one, My washer and dryer currently are separate and are just stacked on one another and I only need a washer

    But GE is good?

Whirlpool Duet HE front loader is the nuts. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Does the machine still spin but clothes come out wet?
I hsd that problem on mine opened up the panel and disconnected black hose from the pump and found it clogged which was stopping it draining properly.
Took 20 minutes to fix for $0 and got a few more years out if the machine until the motor finally shit itself.

GE is great, and it'll save you money on energy... granted small amounts, but still.

Also, when you open it up check the belt that connects the motor to the spinning drum. Belt could have came off or broken. This is a simple fix.

I had a newer Duet that did the same thing. a few minutes on the youtube and found one problem. the other problem was teh pump was shot so i did have to replace it. this was $85 at the local Sears parts store and took all of 10 minutes to fix. I did not want to play 1K plus for a new one since I tend to be a cheap in that area

Always buy a new one. I made the mistake of getting my dryer fixed a few times and ended up putting in as much as a new one, because once you get it fixed the first time then your stuck to keep getting it fixed.

That sucks man. Out of all the brands that I carry for contractor sales the Electrolux front loads have been the best over the last couple of years. I haven't had a single service call on one of them since we started carrying the brand. The bad part is that if you want the mounting brackets to match you will most likely have to get the same brand machine that you have now.

Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, Estate, and Kenmore come from the same plant so they are interchangeable in some instances. Same for Electrolux, Frigidaire, and White Westinghouse as they are built in same place. GE and Hoint Point come from the same plant.

This machine is a beast. This literally the quietest front load that I've ever seen.

shortbuspoker: I guess location will change pricing. I wholesale that washer for $720 and retail it for $795

Shady is correct. GE has horrible brand quality right now unless you are buying their Cafe series kitchen appliances. The Whirlpool Cabrio series that he is talking about is a top load though. The front load Whirlpools have been spun off into the Duet series or will be called the Maxima series under the Maytag brand. The big thing to watch if you buy the from the Whirlpool family is to make sure that unless you need the steam washer to make sure that you get the non-steam model. It will save you around $200 on the washer but the salespeople will push it like mad because it has a higher spiff from Whirlpool corporate.

Oh yeah the Cabrio and the Maytag Bravos version are top top. They are both basically the same machine but if you can get the Bravos for close to the same price buy it because after the one year parts&labor warranty is up it has an additional nine year parts warranty on the motor which is huge on the new high spin speed high efficiency machines.
