I usually gravitate toward Belgian styles too, but in the Spring I like to try the seasonal beers that Sam Adams and New Belgium put out. Yesterday it was a choice between SA's "Alpine Spring" and NB's "Dig". Never having tried either, I went with the latter because I knew I couldn't go wrong with Cascade hops.

But since Druff doesn't do beer, I do a lot less sampling because it's more fun to share with another enthusiast.

Sick brag sir I am indeed jealous. Although I did find sweet potato waffle fries at the grocery store so I am somewhat stoked about grilling burgers this evening.
Yes this whole ordeal is costing me over $600. But he is my best mate and I got to fulfill my obligations as his best man. Plus she has several family members flying in from Germany and he has family coming in from England so we can throw sobriety out the door.

Well I'm fucked. I thought I just saw a question from Tony that
I missed last night dealing with my sobriety. Maybe another thread.
Any way I'm fine. They say your not an alcoholic until
you've gone to a meeting. :rimshot

My problem is Ritalin and gambling and everything is status quo
    unfortunately

Now we're talking Belgian? This is my absolute #1 favorite beer on the planet-

The user ratings aren't great because a lot of people hate on golden ales. A Belgian friend of mine was actually surprised that we could get it in the US. He said that when he moved away 15 years ago, it was considered a microbrew. And he said that it is a favorite among Belgians.

A fantastic, similar, ale is made by the North Coast brewery in California. Pranqster is my favorite beer at the Yardhouse bar and I have recently found it in 4 packs.

Alright time for me to chime in. I've tried probably 1000 different beers in my life.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Props to whoever posted about the Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout that is an amazing beer.

I like dig quite a bit, looking to try their blue paddle if it ever goes on sale. I need to pick up some dig before it's out of rotation.

Heady topper by the alchemist brewery in Vermont is the best thing one can buy in the USA at the moment. It is a double ipa in a can and it will mindfuck you into wondering how such a beer can blow away it's competition so hard. Its worth the hype

Forget the cheap light American Beer for a minute but this idea is great.

Firestone is a great brewery from Ventura. Have you tried the Union Jack IPA from Firestone?

I am on a stout kick. I mainly have stuck to Guinness or Murphy's throughout my life, but am now trying to taste every stout out there. This is what is sitting in my fridge now. Holy shit is this stuff good...

Not sure if I can ever really enjoy a Guinness again after tasting this.

I can drink Guinness but it's watered down shit compared to any English stout from Samuel Smith.

    +1

Made the move to scotch and Irish whiskey a year ago, and beer just won't give me an erection any more. Life is indeed getting more expensive
