I'm a big fan of just about anything Stone Brewery makes and their IPA is definitely my go to beer.

Sweetwater is an Atlanta brewery. That's cool that they're getting wider distribution now. I left town right when they started making Summer Hummer year round. That is damn good beer.

Yeah I don't think there are too many craft brews in the Charleston area. Most of the beers were southern but not from the exact area.

My current favorite Hefe-Weizen is Paulaner.
    Franzeskaner is excellent.

Paulaner is definitely my second favorite German Hefe.

But the #1 is definitely Weihenstephaner Hefe. Their Lager is fucking great too. It's the oldest brewery in the world (almost 1000 years) and it's the official brewery of the state of Bavaria. The Bavarians do not fuck around when it comes to beer.

The Brothers on Beer Advocate gave it a perfect score and the user reviews are almost perfect.

    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/252/731

The only negative is that I've gotten quite a few skunky bottles because it's not very popular and it sits too long.

If you're in Vegas and want really fresh excellent German Hefe, the Hofbrauhaus has their kegs flown in from Munich.

EDIT- While I was writing this, someone posted Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier. That's very good, but IMO the Hefeweissbier is way better.
I have had the Weihenstephaner lager not the hefe yet. Will pick some up at bevmo.

Barry what is your take on Sin City Brewery? Had tried a couple at the Venetian and I thought it was pretty amateur.

Beer is overrated. Costs too much, makes you loud and sloppy(lol) and eventually puts on the pounds. Stick the stimulants and you'll only

need two pallbearers at your funeral

I had my tongue firmly planted in my cheek I'm afraid. I could use twelve cold ones right now and eventually die on the street young before my time.

    ..........then again........

Actually before I quit, a guy a coal beer and wine saw me buying some light beer and he frowned and said have you ever tried a Czech beer?

He convinced me to try a couple of these and it was indeed a treat. Not too pricey either

I will just say that I live in the south and leave it at that. If it isn't bud light or some sort of malt liquor you're usually shit out of luck.

I lived in the Back Bay, Boston during the late '80s. Back then you couldn't miss a certain scrawny guy peddling his beer out of a beat up old car. His name was Jim Koch and he pestered the hell out of every bar and restaurant in the Back Bay and throughout New England.

Of course I tried his beer and I loved it. I still drink it today.

Just picked up a keg of Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen for an engagement party tonight. Bacon-wrapped filets, lobster mac and cheese and good beer. Yes tonight will be a good night.

Sick brag sir I am indeed jealous. Although I did find sweet potato waffle fries at the grocery store so I am somewhat stoked about grilling burgers this evening.
