Went to a brewery nearby and the owner came out and gave us a tour of his new setup. Got to taste some stuff that is debuting later this month (1492 IPA), right out of the vat. Beers were really solid.

Shlitz became part of Pabst in 1999. Pabst was purchased by a private equity company a couple years ago, so it probably has something to do with that. The beer inside may or may not have any relation to its old recipe.

I honestly don't recall what it tasted like from like 20 years ago. I can tell you it was malty and had a caramel thing going on. It was good for what it was, which was an $8 6-pack.

I watch Brew Dogs when it's on. Never heard of this though.

Typhoon coming to honky. Celebrating with a de Molen cigar city collaboration Russian imperial stout. Topped with a charred marshmallow as a "garnish"

Finishing up with a bourbon barrel aged ruski imperial from de Molen and some other euro trash. If this keeps up I might go completely off the wagon.

    Both of those are incredible.

Know of anywhere in town aside from brewery where either is on tap?

Imperial Stout was 2 years old (! was bottled 12/14) and a bit too complex for me, but the Breakfast Stout is about as good as anything I've ever had.

I got one of these seasonal 12 Days of Milkshake Stout Packs from Rochester Mills. They are a brewery in Michigan that taps a new one each day from December 1st to 12th at a lot of bars throughout the state and sells a variety pack containing one 16oz beer of each. I didn't take this picture cuz I'm lazy and it would be the same as this one I grabbed it off google images.

The 12 Days of Milkshake Tap List (NOT in order of release) and Holiday 12 pack contents:

    Bourbon Barrel Aged Milkshake Stout
    Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake Stout
    Imperial Milkshake Stout
    Chocolate Orange Milkshake Stout
    Santa’s Breath (Peppermint Milkshake Stout)
    Vanilla Latte Milkshake Stout
Turtle Dove (Chocolate Caramel Pecan Milkshake Stout)
    Bananas Foster Milkshake Stout
    Blueberry Pancake Milkshake Stout
    Chocolate Cheesecake Milkshake Stout
    German Chocolate Cake Milkshake Stout
Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Milkshake Stout
A lot of weird flavors but I'm always down to try something once.

My local place charges $3 a pint which is a solid deal on the ones released so far (3 days in) and it was $25 out the door price for the 12 pack.

So far I've had the Bananas Foster which is very banana tasting a bit too much for my taste and the Turtle Dove which was quite good. Those were on tap and I'll probably hit up the place a few more times to try others but I have the 12 pack so eventually I'll get to tasting them all and perhaps I'll update this later on.
