    ***Official Beer Thread***

This thread is all about the beer. There is nothing more satisfying than kicking back and enjoying a cold one. This is about the beers we like, don't like and letting us know about the special beers from your local breweries. It is always happy hour in here.

Gonna have this one tonight with my steak.

A very refreshing, and one of my favorite, Pale Ale beers.

Just knocked down a couple of pints of Rogues Hazelnut Brown Nectar from my normal Friday afternoon hangout. It is certainly one of my favorite beers. It is very much like Newcastle Brown but not as sweet and it has a little more bite to it which I like. A misconception about the beer is that since it has a hint of hazelnut that it must be sweet. The hazelnut is very suttle and makes this beer have more of a coffee type flavor. My only complaint about this beer is the texture which is a hint to thin, if it was thicker (but not too thick like Guinness) than it would be the absolute nuts of brown ales.

Still my favorite I'd say, can't really get into pale ales. Too hoppy for me.

Firestone is a great brewery from Ventura. Have you tried the Union Jack IPA from Firestone?

Never tried Firestone's IPA but I do enjoy Full Sails IPA.

The best casino to drink beer at bar none is the M Resort. The reason being is the 32 Draft Bar which has 96 beers on tap, all of them you can order from the cocktail waitress. The beer of choice that night for me was the Franziskaner Wessbier which is the absolute best German Hefeweizen period. A darker beer with a clovy taste. An excellent beer to celebrate the holiday season. Had a few too many that night though

Hard to find around here outside of the sushi places and Japanese steakhouses, but definitely worth the effort to find.

When I can't find the Asahi this is my go to beer.

Next time I hit up Bevmo I'll check to see if they have this.

My current favorite Hefe-Weizen is Paulaner.

Depends on were you live. I live in California and have a Bevmo right by me. They stock almost everything including Japanese beers like Asahi and Kirin.

    Franzeskaner is excellent.

Paulaner is definitely my second favorite German Hefe.

But the #1 is definitely Weihenstephaner Hefe. Their Lager is fucking great too. It's the oldest brewery in the world (almost 1000 years) and it's the official brewery of the state of Bavaria. The Bavarians do not fuck around when it comes to beer.

The Brothers on Beer Advocate gave it a perfect score and the user reviews are almost perfect.

The only negative is that I've gotten quite a few skunky bottles because it's not very popular and it sits too long.

If you're in Vegas and want really fresh excellent German Hefe, the Hofbrauhaus has their kegs flown in from Munich.

EDIT- While I was writing this, someone posted Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier. That's very good, but IMO the Hefeweissbier is way better.

If you're in Louisiana and want really fresh excellent German Hefe, call pikachar he can get his grubby hands on all German beers

EDIT- While I was writing this, someone ass-hat named pikachar posted a photo of Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier. That's very good, but IMO the Hefeweissbier is way better.
