The French media has dubbed this the "heist of the century" and, well, it's kind of hard to argue. Police in Cannes, on the French Riviera, are hunting for a suspect who stole an estimated $53 million in jewelry from a diamond exhibition at the luxury Carlton Intercontinental Hotel.
One police officer said the raid could not have been any more daring as the masked man burst in, armed with an automatic pistol, and fled on foot with bags of diamond rings, watches and earrings.
The exhibition was set up by the company of billionaire Israeli diamond mogul Lev Leviev.

Hmm guess they decided cashing out jewels might be a better bet then casino chips unlike the last brazen daylight lottery which hit a casino in Europe.
