Not going to post spoilers but the end of the final episode is the hardest I've laughed at a tv show in years. It's not that it is overly funny but the context just killed me.

House of Cards has Kevin Spacey. I haven't seen the other one, but given the coin flip, Spacey wins.

Both are flawed but good. House of Cards is Machiavallian-ey politics, OITNB is quirky dark comedy. The latter is somewhat similar to Weeds if you've seen it, same creator.

So perfect. Is this it for the show? I'm sad that it's over, but if this is how it ends I'm completely satisfied.

In answer to the question of House of Cards vs. OITNB, I've seen both and find OITNB to be the superior show. As a matter of preference, I like stories where you really get know all the characters, and here they've done a great job of developing them. Not just through flashbacks and backstories, but the way each of them evolve over time. That said, I did enjoy House of Cards.

Describing it as a quirky dark comedy does it little justice in my opinion. This show does drama very well.

EDIT: Hm, looks like they're doing a third season after all. There are some unresolved things, but I was okay with them being left up in the air. I hope they don't fuck this up.
