Second most frustrating night since the start of the roll. Down 1K last night. The only thing that went right was I sold a kings full $500 high hand with 5 minutes left for $300 and 2 min later aces full got called. Roll is down to $3100.

Here is what REALLY sucked about lat night. "Player X' this Russian mob kid who shoots off $4K-$5K a night when he plays was at my table and everyone else walked away with hundred if not thousands of is money. It was a BAD night to be card dead. No sets, No flushes, no two pair. I flopped one Broadway st8 and won a few hundred, but gave it all back when I got it all in with Q-Q to isolate "player X" and someone to my left woke up with K-K.

I need to continue to look at the positives, still up since the start of the roll and $2,600 in about a month isn't exactly the worst thing in the world.

Up $50 last night.... and I got MAJORLY outplayed by a relative rookie. Ouch.

On the button with 2-2. 5*$40 pre. Flop was 2x-3s-Qd. Checked around to me I bet $100 1 caller. Turn 5s. Check I bet $150. River 4s the worst card in the deck. He bets $120 into me and I fold the set face up....... He tables Kx-Qx. Been over this hand a bunch of times in my head.... just a great post oak bluff by him. The 4s is just about the only card in the deck where I "have" to fold there. He had the only hand that I could beat and even though I was getting 6-1 on my $$, I just didnt think I was the winner. WHoops.

Now this is how it's supposed to go. The roll sits at $4,850. Up $1750 last night.

I had to sit at 2-5 to start the night where I was put to the test and won. I flopped a K high flush with $600 behind. Had a few $20 betters/callers in front of me and I raised to $50. A Argo player made it $125 and a tight player flatted and I followed. Turn was a blank. Tight guy checks, I check Argo makes it $180 and tight guy tanks then folds I put him on a Ace/pair and not a set. I'm fairly sure he calls with set, but then again it may have been 2 pair... but my gut told me Ah. River was a blank (put a st8 out there, but thats BS in this hand). I check and Argo shoves for the rest. I thought for 5 seconds and decided to trust my read that he didn't have the Ace.... he tabled Qh.3h

Name got called for 5-10, bought in for $300 and flopped Presto (5's) on my third hand and nearly doubled up. managed to play A-B-C poker the rest of the night to chip up from there. Had a guy all in near the end for $700 pot with A-7 top 2 flop, ran out J-J and his A-9 was good, but that was the only real hand where something went wrong.

Before I talk about today's action - Someone figured out that when you have the same 7 dudes playing in the Omaha game that all are no action play the nuts style the game sucks. So some of the more action players decided that they (we) are going to change the game to a 2-5 HO game. 1 it "priced out" the cheap short stacked nits. 2. it allows the game to draw players from the holdem pool. On balance - I hope to God they keep this game. Not only was the game filled with action, we had three new holdem players join that shot off $4K in the Omaha rounds as they clearly don't understand how to play the game.

Today could have been a whole lot worse, but in the end it could have been a whole lot better. I got put in the set cemetery early My 9-9-9 < K-K-K = $500 loss. Sucked but no way around that one. I then flopped bottom 2 vs top 2 = $250 loss. Thankfully the day turned around from there. I batted most of the way back to down $200, $100 -$200 at a pop. Q-Q > A-K that sort of stuff.

Then in the Omaha round I called $40 with 9-9-8-7 to close action in a 6 way pot. Not exactly the hand you want in that situation, but "any two" in that spot I guess. Flop came down 9d-3x-4x. Right wrong or indifferent, I really wanted to see what the turn brings with this sort of flop, even if it means I have to fold/call on a bad turn. I never had to or wanted to raise. By the time it got to me I had to call $100, and by the time it got back to me again I had to call all in for $700. It was 5 way all in for $3400. Turn was the Ad and I shit my pants.... what a bad card. River Qd.... opens up Diamonds.... another awful card. Three of the 4 others called with A-2 and the other guy had bottom set. Unfortunately someone had Ax-2d-6d in his hand, but fortunately he was the short stack. He scooped the first $300/$1,500. Somehow nobody had a wheel and i took the high side of the rest of the pot, roughly $1,100 or a profit of $400. No Diamond/low or a paired board and I could have walked away a HUGE winner. Oh well - like I said at the top it could have been a lot worse, but it could have been better. I was now up $150 on the day.

I then promptly shot off $138 with J-J pre vs two guys on a A-K-2 board.

Net net - $12, and a grilled chicken salad that I bought out of my stack.

Ended up playing Sat night to the tune of a $550 loss. I let the quality of players at the table bring me down.

Sat in and doubled up with a set of 2's vs AA and it was all downhill from there. Paid off a simply awful player $400 AQ<AK. Flopped a st8 with 2-4 on a wheel board (in the BB) the same awful player ran me down with K-3 when the board ran out 5-5, but I didn't bet big enough because i didn't want to lose him...... I wasn't playing "my game" and I paid the price.

Ended up playing Tuesday AM - Lost another $500. A-K fold, A-K fold, J-J raise A-K-s flop.... This kind of nonsense. Finlay after 5 hours of play got it all in with a OESFD and went bricks.

Roll, as of Tuesday was $3800....... It's much bigger then that now. I'll go grab some lunch and update for last nights activity.

The roll as of this AM stands at 6,100 up $2,300 last night!

Another night where I got off to a bad start, down $600, and battled back to a big win. I lost $600 on a 5-10 table that broke, played some 2-5 and made $100 and transferred back into the one remaining 5-10.

Tonight's story was all about two very good players and two very bad players. The two very bad players shot off over 5K on the table between them. I flopped second st8 with a gutshot St8 fulsh redraw with Qh-8h on a Jh-10h-9x board. I got it all in for $400 three ways with the two crap players.... and I was in relative bad shape as i was up against a set and K-Q nutz. River was the 9h. BINGO! I got outplayed by the worst player at the table and got lucky, but nobody is laying that hand down. The worst part about it is the progressive jackpot board had all the straight flushes for $1000 or more.... with the exception of the Q high that was hit that morning. So I "only" got $100. Better then nothing but still.

Then came the hand of the night. I straddled on the button with 4-4. Big button (good player 1) flats, under the gun (good player 2) makes it $100. folds around to me. i got $1500 behind and the two others had me covered. I figure if I hit it's going to pay real well, so I call and good player 1 calls.

Flop 8d-5x-4d - Bingo.

Turn Not just Bingo - supper fly fucking BINGO 4! Quadzilla.

Check check.... so I'm a little worried but I fire $300, fold call.

River J - first better seems pissed like he folded J-J. Check. I didn't know what to bet honestly. I figure if I went all in he could fold. i "settled" on $425 because I "needed" the call on this hand... and he snapped called with K-K.

Player 1 said he did in fact fold J-J, so I guess I fucked up betting the $300 on the turn in hind sight. but if a diamond falls or an ace falls i may not get any action on the river so I have no regrets.

I was so excited to play Fri night...... and I played like an asshole right out of the gate.... and I doubled up on hand #2.... and then I shot off $1K.

Remembered something in hindsight. Dont get excited about playing cards. I play better as I play my game and as a grind.

Played last night.... down $100.

Doubled up early at 2-5 when my flopped st8 beat a set. Changed tables to 5-10 and pocketed $200 profit and bought in for $300. Doubled to $600 flopped nut flush to K high. Then all the ghey happened. Flopped another nut flush got it all in for $300 with a short stack with top pair and went runner runner boat. Then QQ<A-K for another $180. Then someone flushed out on my top 2 for another $150 Then I jammed with a short stack with 9-9 in MP and got called by Q-Q and J-J in the Hijack and SB.

Would have been a OK night if I left 40 min earlier.

Oh well... it felt good to play and run good for a while.

My Mother in Law flys back home today, and my Grand other in law goes back to her other daughters house today! I'll finally be able to start the grind again all though I'm headed on a cruise next week.

My run came up in a flying stupidity thread so I figured I'd bump. Good news/bad news from this point. I got a call from my company controller at the start of December. For you Eddie Izard fans I got a "death or cake offer". My company was laying off 33% of my department. So I could either take a layoff with 9 months severance -or- take a new job with a 23% raise. Being a family man I took the job. Unfortunately it's a real job that I have to actualy be at my computer and can't sneak out to play poker.

Alls well that ended well though.... I took the family to Disney world for a week and took the rest of the roll to the mall for Christmas.

I've been to the poker room once in 2 months. My boss is headed to Australia for most of December so I may try and sneak away.
