    Atari and Colecovision games

For all the old farts around here (present company included), Archive.org has released all the Craptacular games we grew up on, FOR FREE on your computer this morning.

    https://archive.org/details/consolelivingroom

Relive those moments we wasted in our youth trying to play some of the shittiest graphic games ever produced.

Atari and Coleco games o plenty!

Also, show this to your kids and tell them to "Fuck Off' the next time they complain about not getting Call of Duty. Show them "Flag Capture" on Atari, which I spent my allowance on and then ground them.

    Enjoy

Already rocked some Dig Dug and B.C.'s Quest for Tires. Me and a buddy were just talking about how we remembered thinking back then that B.C.'s graphics, along with The Smurfs, were awesome.

I ran some numbers through VisiCalc....

An 8 bit Apple IIc retailed for about $1300 in 1977. Maxed out at 48K $2,700.

    1977 Chevy Vega MSRP $3,249

honestly, they were pretty fucking useless too. inventory with VisiCalc... word processing ... games

i remember looking in the back of PC Magazine around 1985 or so for IBM PC AT with RGB monitor, math coprocessor. Just had to have my own. $5000 easy. I was actually seriously considering it too.

Lost everything I saved as a kid gambling IBM stock (first Calls I ever bought) prior to the release of something called the IBM Peanut. affordable home computer ... figured stock would go nuts.... it didn't. LOL

Never, ever buy the news, kids.

I played almost 3 minutes of E.T. It is truly horrible. It looks exactly like one person spent 5 weeks working on it.

Do the games have no sound or is it just me? Part of the fun in these games for me was the sound in certain games like moon patrol for the 2600.

It is the truth. Atari paid $25M for the rights to make the game. But they didn't get the deal done until the end of July. In order to have the game out by that Christmas, it had to be completed by September 1.

It really is amazing with all the money that was in the 2600 back then that they fucked up so many games. The Pac-Man port was a semi-disaster as well.
