Perhaps the lesson for a Broward County man is that if a court orders you not to have any guns, you probably shouldn't post photos of yourself firing them on your Facebook page.

When federal agents got a tip earlier this year that Alain Ramirez had firearms and ammunition despite a 2008 conviction for burglary, they only had to check out his Facebook page – which didn't even have the privacy settings turned on.

The photos – since removed – showed Ramirez, 28, posing with two firearms at his mother's Margate home in 2011 and shooting a pistol last year at Big Al's gun range in Pembroke Park, agents said.

Ramirez dabbed away tears Tuesday as he pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon in federal court in Fort Lauderdale. He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 20.
