Just a re-post on drudge to get noticed. Nothing to see here folks.

Nice thread.
I believe this is the first major US air disaster in quite awhile, but it's not getting as much attention as it appears to deserve because:
1) Only 2 people died.
2) It was a foreign flight. If this happened to American Airlines, this would get a lot more coverage and attention.
We don't know the exact details yet, but the two dead were chinese teenagers. My experience with the chinese and that they were flung from the plane would leave me to believe they didn't have their seat belts on, but who knows.
It was very common while in china that the people right before landing would be standing up walking around getting their stuff out of the over head.
Flight does not count. It was foreign. The only plane crashes I give a shit about are airline companies US based. I have not even clicked on the drudge link and not sure why he is wasting space. It kinda reminds me of a Typhoon hitting China versus a Hurricane hitting the gulf coast. One I care about, the other does not register.
Well not appropriately enough because the plane crashed due to pilot error.
I don't want any part of a foreign airline, or foreign airport for that matter. I am in the minority but I am a huge fan of the TSA. And the only union I would ever support is the Pilot union. I think pilots deserve $500,000 a year and I am willing to spend an extra $100 a ticket to do so.
I heard there was a plane crash & burn on takeoff in Alaska. Can't find the story yet but I'll keep looking.

Asiana is and will continue to be one of the best airlines there are. If you want to continue flying US based airlines and insist that foreign airlines are "ghetto" have fun with dealing with the overpriced underprivileged tickets you get with every US airlines flight.

They'll be plenty safe as I fly through Toronto to avoid the massacre that is US based airlines and fly comfortably in the number 20 airline Air Canada.
Laughing at Etihad and Turkish airlines just shows you have no clue what you're talking about. Turkish airlines is an extremely high class airline and so is Etihad is almost as good.
