To preface, I have not been to Vegas for quite a few years due to raising kid, divorce blah blah blah. I remember Vegas as much more vibrant back then, most likely due to the economy tanking.
Kudos to how organized the events were. Registering, finding where to go was a piece of cake.
I played a 1k event, will say 3k chips even at 25/25 blinds for an hour just doesnt seem to be a good bang for my buck. I enjoyed the daily deepstack tournament much more.
I lasted most of day one, the cards weren't flowing my way. It's hard to bluff with a barage of 83 os. My table played surprisingly well with a fun range of personalities. There was some dealer drama when they changed tables and I told them hey players are supposed to fight, not the dealers.
Poker icons I did run into were.....
Barry Greenstein, he is very thin and frail in person, I hope he isnt ill.
Greg Raymer, looks much better in person than on tv.
Doyle Brunson, a fast sob on his scooter, still was cool to see him whiz by.
Esfandiari, his girlfriend is hot.
Gus Hansen, I thought he would be a mean standoffish personality, but he was very sweet and accomodating.
Gavin Smith is exactly like he portrays himself on tv.
Jennicide, more hot in person than in playboy.
Jen Harmon, much better looking in person.
There were some others I recognized from tv but could not remember their names.
Fat young jewish looking kid
Foreign bald tall dude.
Others that escape my memory.
If I every play again, it would have to be the main event where you have more chips to work with.
We ventured out to the M Casino. I really liked that place as a getaway from the strip hustle and bustle. Yum Yum breakfast buffet.
We still had a great time and blew alot of dough. Saw Criss Angel as the obigatory show, just expected him to be more dark and edgy than he was.
