PokerStars coming to New Jersey (not through Atlantic Club this time)

“Resorts is a fantastic partner for us, and we are looking forward to launch PokerStars in the U.S. in association with the other quality brands Resorts has brought to Atlantic City,” Scheinberg said in a statement. “We are very happy to invest in New Jersey, and we are excited about building a successful relationship with Resorts.”
Looks like PokerStars is partnering with "Resorts" to offer gaming to NJ residents, just days after a NJ court denied their appeal regarding the Atlantic Club deal.
As that court drama plays out, PokerStars will now join with Resorts to offer Internet gambling. It was not immediately clear whether PokerStars might abandon its fight to buy the Atlantic Club in the wake of the partnership with Resorts. PokerStars spokesman Eric Hollreiser could not be reached for comment.
My guess is they won't try to re-negotiate a deal with Atlantic Club as they're probably very bitter over the former deal. They still need to wait for regulatory approval from the NJ gaming authorities.

Since the NJ law allows for all types of gaming, not just poker, it'll be intersting to see how they integrate other forms of gaming in their interface.

The first NJ room is expected to go live some time around November of this year...

It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out because it seems like everybody wants a piece of NJ. Trump announced that it is partnering with Betfair. Resorts is partnering with PokerStars. And UltimatePoker is also trying to get in on the act.
