Cirque du Soleil performer falls 50 feet to death during live show at MGM

I can only assume that this goes under "Flying Stupidity"

A little micro dent will go into Guy Laliberte's bank account after this.

I have seen 2 different Cirque shows and figured something like this was bound to happen. They do shows every night all over the world.

Sad performer was young and she had 2 young kids.

Actually surprised this doesn't happen more often, given how many life-risking situations these performers get into on a daily basis. Just one screwup and you're dead. Even if you're experienced, it can happen.

I don't think this will cost Laliberte anything. He probably has insurance for this.

I could have sworn there was another Cirque related death in So Cal many years ago.

EDIT: The performer died during a rehersal.

They do. They actually can get refunds if they want.

Since this was near the end of the show, I wonder if some callous people are glad this happened so they got a refund for this otherwise expensive show.

The show momentarily continued, but then the music halted, and the performer’s screams and groans could be heard from below the stage.
ok seriously thats among the worst shit ive ever heard.

Guess ya didnt read the article because that questionw as answered. NOW for the more disturbing issue. This is the 2nd incident in 4 days involving Cirque de Soliel in Vegas.. Wednesday night a performer was injured during the final preview show for the new Michael Jackson show at Mandalay Bay which caused the show to be ended early with comps issued. Not to sound like a conspiracy nut but this is starting to sound like a fucking episode of CSI literally going on right now. 2 incidents involving Cirque in 4 nights at different venues??? Maybe somebody has a grudge against Guy or the company as a whole and is seeking retribution. I know sounds far fetched but weirder shit has happened.
