Phil Ivey didn't bag his own chips at the end of Day 1 of the $1500 Limit Holdem WSOP event

Like me, Phil Ivey wasn't exactly thrilled with his Day 1 of the $1500 Limit Holdem.

He finished with 3900, I finished with 3300. Average is 16k.

However, unlike me, Phil Ivey is pretty much the king of the poker world and can't be bothered with menial tasks such as bagging chips and filling out paperwork.

Now, it would be perfectly acceptable if Phil had this done by a personal assistant.

However, in this case, Phil's "personal assistant" was the floor.

The day ended, and Phil immediately stood up and walked off.

Everyone is supposed to stay, wait for bags to be distributed, put the chips inside, fill out the necessary paperwork, and then leave when this is complete. Phil was out of his seat within moments of the final hand being played, and never looked back.

So what happened to his chips?

The floor ran over, bagged them up, filled out his paperwork, and basically did all of the grunt work for him.

I guess nobody has the guts to tell Ivey to sit the fuck back down and bag his own chips, or to give him a penalty on Day 2 for walking off like that.

Imagine if I (or any other non-famous pro) did something like that. 100% we'd come back to Day 2 with a penalty and a stern lecture.

To be fair maybe he did this because he had no intention of returning for Day 2 with only 4k chips.

From what I could see (he was the next table over), he was playing semi-cautiously and not shooting off the short stack that he had pretty much the whole night, so I do think he cared about the event to some degree.

I don't know if he usually bags his own chips, but tonight I bet he felt like bagging 3900 was beneath him (or was in a bad mood and didn't feel like it), so he walked off and let the floor do it.

I've always thought he was a bit douchey. Never got on the Ivey band-wagon.

For the 10 percent that doesn't know -- the guy in the glasses sitting across from Ivey is Archie Karas

"Archie Karas (born Anargyros Karabourniotis[1] in 1950) is a Greek-American gambler, high roller, poker player, and pool shark famous for the largest and longest documented winning streak in gambling history simply known as The Run when he turned $50 in December 1992 into over $40 million."

Even if it was only 15 mil, it was still insane.

I first read about Archie's story a few years back and what a great and sick run that was

Here's a list of other things that Phil Ivey doesn't have to do for himself,

    Wash his dirty laundry

    Cook his own food

    Drive himself around town

    Jerk himself off

WSOP must be doing a damn good job if that is all Druff has to complain about.

All these other suggestions are possible for the average person but it's Phil Ivey so it was off to throw some dice.
