I saw on Micon's Twitter that he's playing in 70K worth of tourneys and has been staked for like 80% of that. Who could possibly think he's a good investment? When is the last year Micon turned a profit (cash and tourneys)? He seems to be an ok player but he isn't good enough compared to the field to overcome the variance. I just don't get it. He's like JRB on a smaller scale.

If Micon has any edge anymore and that is a big "if" it's certainly NOT in no limit holdem. His only possible edge would be in some mixed game events if Micon has any edge at all.
Micon has always been good at selling himself. I always thought of the WSOP as one big lottery. Unless the guy you are staking just flat out sucks, there isnt much difference between an average player and a higher level pro in these things.Originally Posted by BeerAndPoker

Don't think he's a total idiot in NLH. Would assume there are plenty of loose idiots he could chip up from, so if he can find a bit of run good then a deep run or a final table is not beyond him.
But once all that dead money has gone and he's left with a table full of deep stacked NLH wizards, then he's pretty much fucked and will be relying on positive cooler situations.

Never played w/ Micon personally but one of my buddies had him at WSOP table on 2 diff occaisons. Said that Micon seemed to play pretty well for awhile but then he would just make a head scratcher of a stupid play out of the blue and shoot off his chips. He said Micon did this both times they played together. I think Micon knows what to do but has a problem executing it and tilts sometimes. Def wouldnt stake the guy in NL, he seems to play like 15 of those each year and almost never cashes.
