What I find interesting is that this is an unprecedented period of growth without any of the telltale divots that we traditionally associate with manipulation vis a vis pump and dump frequency hacks so on.

There is no "real" speculation (long term hold) going on for the most part. Any time now the Chinese will yank out their profits and the average speculator will get stuck. Rinse and repeat because with this group you have built in propaganda and conspiracy to feed the flames.
My guess is it loses several hundred day after day at some point soon because after all, more expensive BTC is only good to sell and have REAL dollah bills, that is the point. The trading is no indication of support for cashless society free of government, its all business.
If there was no real money to be made this made up digital math solving some how equates to value BS wouldn't get a second look.
The blockchain is the prize, not half the BTC created. The other half belong to a few.

The main difference between cryto speculation's potential to cause The Emperor's New Clothes effect and a complex Ponzi scheme that intersected with a corrupted rating and swap system is that people who own BTC can take out their money now, while it appears to be plateaueing and at a momentary peak.
BTC may end up becoming a game of hot potato for some of the whales but I've never owned more than a few dozen coins, so it really doesn't have anything to do with me.

Coinbase was $50 more per coin than Bitstamp all week until this morning. That was a signal that demand was slowing down and sure enough there was a selloff. Same thing happened with $GBTC. $GBTC trades on the stock market and each share represents .093 bitcoin. Earlier in the week, fair value for 1 share was $160 but $GBTC was trading at $260. People wanted bitcoin so bad that they were willing to buy shares that were 60% overvalued! A lot of that premium got flushed out yesterday and today which hinted of the pending selloff. $GBTC is still overvalued, it closed at $188 but fair value as of right now is $158.

If anyone wants to sell BTC now, I'm buying. $200 minimum

No, I don't think that's fair. I believe the stance of Sonatine, and many others, is that it's a house of cards and that one day the ceiling is going to cave in. The speculation of price seems to exist separate, so while I don't think BTC is donk - having confidence in it goes beyond just thinking it will trend upward for the short term.

People have been saying "BTC will collapse" for years now. People will continue to say this for years. All that changes is the prices at the time.
Crypto-currencies are not going away anytime soon. The utility is just too much. The haters never understand the utility.
The market cap isn't that big when you are looking at it globally.
I'm convinced ETH will slowly take over though, so I'm no longer big into the buying and holding of BTC.
