For legitimate use BTC is just too volatile, slow and not nearly secure enough (exchanges particularly). If it ever gains enough popularity for anyone to bother the relevant parts of the tech are just stolen/modified with proper backing of some kind.

There's a bit of value in being the first popular cryptocurrency, but in reality it's a lot less than people give credit to it.

All this has been played out in many ways with online poker sites and payment processors in recent history.

BTC are quite traceable and the point when you trade them to say USD there is no additional anonymity compared to fiat currencies. Exchanges have helped in tracking individuals and they will likely do so in the future.

The privacy part has more to do with no one looking compared to being actually hidden.

Oh, the price appreciated dramatically. Duh.

Buy from my ATM, no ID required. Anonymity does exist but it won't last much longer. The politicians will always find a way to ruin the party.

Buying obv can be done reasonably anonymously. Selling part is the tricky one. But yea if there's going to be any major government involvement with btc the no ID part is the first one to go.

    $1,500 atm

Does it drop under 1k or climb over 2k first?

hard to say.. Almost a coinflip at this point.. If I was betting based on the pattern Id almost guess it hits 2k first.. Also interesting news Coinbase is now expanded to include LTC besides they've already offered ETH (which by the way is over $80).. Id almost ignore the BTC issue and buy some ETH and sit on them as its rise has far exceeded BTC its up 8fold since beginning of the year..

Buying some LTC to let ride for a while now that coinbase offers them. Betonline also allows deposit/withdrawal in LTC so that's interesting..

Neither. It will drop but not below 1K and will rise but not above 2k (in the next couple months).

My guess is that it will be eventually over 2k. This rise will result in a lot of people selling, which temporarily drops the value, but will only be a temporary, speculative drop

Ill tell you why.. The fucking bitcoin network is as fucked up as Rush Hour in LA on a Monday.. Last I read over 125,000 transactions are jammed up in the system as a whole.. The pissing contest maybe coming to a head with the BTC vs BTU folks this time as its downright affecting transactions processing that its not just small transactions being hung up its larger ones as well.. What amazes me is despite this the price of BTC is over $1600.00 I would've expected with the system running like an Atari 800 trying to run Windows it would've hurt BTC price but so far not so much.. Also there is a significant gap price between some wallet/markets.. Coindesk is at 1592, CEX.IO is 1608 and Coinbase is 1657 as I write this.. Cant be healthy with this kind of spread of nearly $70.. I did find some useful news apparently a mining op is offering to help process transactions who have a minimum processing fee attached of With the Transaction Accelerator for delayed transactions, users can submit any TXID that includes a minimum 0.0001BTC/KB fee to ViaBTC.

Link to the accelerator is here.. They aren't charging they claim they are just trying to help process things and are taking donations but also its a bit of a rant included about the pissing contest on going regarding bitcoin architechture..

    https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

Wont help those buying coins but if you are trying to get shit moved through the network it might help..

You can all notice, but fail to acknowledge, that I have been dead-on about BTC since joining this forum.

I think you grossly overestimate how little we care about how donkdown bitcoins are.

It is interesting the parallel between Beanie Babies & the dot com's in 1999 and crypto & today's environment

Periods of infinite possibility, driverless cars, AI, Giselle doing sit ups in the dream room, Trump in the White House.

You know the effect Lake Michigan has on your man parts?

But it's different this time LOL

People never learn and the one's who do dump in time.

On a side note have you ever looked at how few maybe several dozen people actually own the VAST majority of bitcoins, scary and telling. I love how BTC boards rally against the man when the very thing they support is controlled by few. Id have to find that pyramid.

    Every market has its peak.

Beanie babies never had limitless possibility. Neither has BTC. In fact it's finiteness is why it has survived.

If someone had bought Bitcoin at the start of this thread and sold half their Bitcoin a few weeks ago and still holding half, they are not a donk.

Sonatine - I know you don't care about BTC performance, you clearly got burnt and haven't kept any money in it since.

I love how you can post about how you know nothing and have been here for only a few months and 5 minutes later youre Hannibal Lecter when it comes to my emotional problems with BTC.

Lighten up Francis, you're a random lecturing to people who have known each other for like a fucking decade.
