Raisi, an awful person who put many thousands of people to death prior to being President, had little power in Iran. The ayatollahs are the real rulers, and he was just a puppet. With that said, he was the likely successor to rule Iran once Ali Khamenei kicked the bucket, which might be soon given Khamenei's age.
Hamas is so stupid that they fell for an internet meme and repeated it seriously on their Telegram account. Someone started a joke that a Mossad agent named "Eli Kopter" killed Raisi. A picture of "Eli" was even posted:
Some moron operating the Hamas Telegram account thought this was real information, and put out that a Mossad agent named Eli Kopter was responsible for Raisi's death. The post was deleted after they were alerted to how stupid they were.
Honestly Trump having Qasem Soleimani straight up assassinated in January 2020 was more impactful than whatever this crash was.
I also loved Trump's, "Yeah, we did it, fuck you" attitude to Iran right after it happened. And Iran bitched out and did nothing about it, which was exactly what Trump thought would happen. I look forward to having that type of foreign policy back when Trump becomes President again in 2025. The Obama/Biden plan of Iranian bootlicking isn't quite as effective.
