Optimus Poker just disappeared off the face of the earth. Went to play and it says that they have been bought by a third party.

From their website:
This will probably be a lot like when Hero Poker closed. It might take a few weeks or months but I would start the process as soon as possible contacting the merge network to see what they want you to do. The most likely thing is they will ask you to create an account on a skin you want to play on and then they will move your funds to that site.Dear OptimusPoker Customer,
We are writing to inform you that OptimusPoker recently transferred to Merge Gaming Limited certain assets which form part of the OptimusPoker brand. As a result, OptimusPoker will cease to operate OptimusPoker.eu as of 00:00 (EST) on May 8, 2013.
We want to take this moment to assure you that your player funds are secure; and you will have access to your funds and the ability to play on the Merge Gaming Network. All player funds will continue to be managed by Merge Gaming in the usual course.
It has been our pleasure to serve the poker community and we wish you all the best moving forward. For further instructions related to your accounts and support, please login to the OptimusPoker client.
Sincerely,
The OptimusPoker Team
The process may or may not be slow but I believe your funds are safe.

Knock on wood... Merge has been really good with these closures so far.
I write things about poker at my Poker Blog and elsewhere on the Internets
This is how it has gone so far: Dear Merge, My name is blank blank. I had an account on Optimus. I just created an account on Sportsbook.com. Please transfer my funds. Reply: Dear blank blank,Thank you for contacting us! We've generated a reference number to track your inquiry. Please use this in any further communication about this particular issue. Kind regards, Player Services. I don't think that I will be back in action there anytime soon.
Sorry you lost your site. I set up an account on Carbon when Hero left us. I sent my email on a Friday night and received my transfer sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. I DID receive an email on Tuesday that my transfer would take place within 12 hours.
I got some play-through bonus money free and clear. I successfully withdrew soon after. It took 8 weeks or so.
Best of luck to you!

Thanx for your kind concern for Optimus players. In fairness, however, the early signs for a satisfactory resolution are at best mixed. I would put the percentages at 10% for a rapid fair solution, 60% for a slow solution, 30%for a total fleecing of Optimus players. I was originally a Feltstars player who transferred to Optimus after their epic fail and that went excellently. However, I lost my entire bankrolls in the UB and Betsharks fails. All three of these failed sites were, of course, always a bit dodgy to put it mildly, but you could build a workable bankroll without depositing. It would be hard for me to recommend depositing on any American facing site other than perhaps Bovada given their long term stability.
