Shodan: The scariest search engine on the internet

Google searches for websites, while Shodan searches for devices:

    http://money.cnn.com/2013/04/08/tech...curity/shodan/

Have you seen "Person of Interest", where one of the protagonists constantly accesses and controls devices connected to the internet?

Much of that is preposterous and oversimplified fiction, but Shodan demonstrates that it's not as far-fetched as it appears. Many of the connected devices have default passwords still in place.

Nearly all security cameras are non password protected & IP based devices. The PC based security system that they are connected to through corporate IT is a hackers delight. IT never understands nor really cares why this crap is getting hung on their network. A hackers delight especially if you are spoon fed addresses.

Hack the hole-card cameras at the Rio. Those are IP cameras too.

Druff this sounds cool and all but despite all the potential all I see is BORING. Can you at least like hack my printer and see what documents I last printed and post on the site? That would be, if not sizzling, at least hot and steamingly interesting.
