    Google Glass

I cant imagine people wearing this thing in public. IMO it puts you at an even higher level of douchness than the people that that wear their Bluetooth ear piece no matter where they are.

This forum is filled with nerds. No matter how cool or practical this thing is, would anyone here actually wear this?

    Makes people look like cyborgs.

I guess the sci-fi future I always wanted as a kid has finally arrived.

At least Google seems to be driving the future, between these weird glasses and cars that drive themselves.

Bluetooth ear pieces are douchey for a bunch of reasons that don't apply to Glass. The only common reason is that other people can see you wearing them.

That small stigma will fade because Glass is fucking awesome and tons of people will be using it.

Maybe you are right. I just think females are going to think men that wear them are douchebags. If that is the case, many men wont wear them no matter how practical they are. Getting laid is much more important to many guys.

Really? That never stopped anyone from wearing graphic tees.

Then again, maybe it's the douche-bros that are obsessed with self-image and getting laid. They'll abstain from the Glass and only nerds will wear them. They'll come along for the ride later when it's more prevalent, like they did with video games.

    This.

They also have their own internet being run out of railroad cars parked across the country filled at like 98% physical capacity with super compact, energy efficient servers they designed themselves from the circuits and resisters up.

Im not even going to get into what they are doing with the land they are leasing at NASA Ames...

pros - does away with the need for a cellphone?

cons - costs $1500, you can't wear them in strip clubs or movie theaters, and they probably give you brain and eye cancer (instead of just the brain cancer your cellphone gives you).

other than looking cool (and from what the news is saying, it sounds like I'm in the minority with that opinion),whats's the benefit to getting them? other than you don't have to carry a phone (assuming a network provider even provides cell service for them)? hell, i just realized you probably cant play games on them. or send an email/text without everyone on earshot hearing the message you're sending.

Agree with SS and I say this as a neo-ludite. Tech is the new status symbol. When it comes to technology nothing is too corny. Puff Daddy will be pimping these things within two years.

To those of you too young to remember this, every single accusation tossed at Google Glass was tossed at cell phones when they started to get cameras in them.
