That should probably be on a self-defense highlight video for how NOT to take a charge from a large man trying to run you over.

i donno. He ran after Quentin and tackled him from behind. i think he just didn't anticipate it well enough to get there soon enough.

Is that not the case? That's pretty strange, especially with a starting pitcher going down. Imagine what Goodell would do if someone did that to a QB between plays.

apparently Kemp also confronted Quentin in the parking lot afterwards. This commenter from Deadspin nailed it:

    Quentin: Whatever. Maricon.

Kemp: It's on now, motherfucker! IT'S FUCKING ON RIGHT FUCKING NOW!
    [Waves energetically; frays labrum]
    [Purses lips scornfully]

    Quentin: [Scoffs]
[Performs passive shoulder stretch; arm falls off at joint]
    [Spits at Kemp, smiles]

As a Giant fan, I've tried hating on Kemp every way possible, but he is just a class act in my book.

Greinke hit him on purpose. Part of the game 3 game suspension max. Since its the Dodger he may get 7 games. This is part of baseball Greinke has history with this guy from when he played in KC and Quentin played for the Whitesox add the Dodgers plunked him 3 times all is justified . So I really wish the blow hard nerdy Dodger fans would stfu when they have no clue wtf is going on. If I was Quentin I would of charged the mound with a bat cuz it was 100% on purpose. If u cant fight dont hit guys that out weigh u by 100lbs especially when u have a catcher who is slower then Druff running a 40 yd dash.

BTW I liked Greinke before it was cool as my picture will show you but he had it coming!!! Druff where is your greinke Jersey?? Thats what I thought so stfu!!

    LOL Jack Daniels

Are you the new Jewdonk of this forum?

I would normally agree that this was on purpose, but there are a few important factors to consider:

    1) The game was 2-1 Dodgers in the 6th with the bases empty. No way you put a runner on base on purpose there, no matter how much you hate him.

    2) If you observe Greinke's body movements on that pitch, it really looks accidental.

    3) Quentin is known for purposely getting hit by pitches. He is the Craig Biggio of the 2010s.

If you are going to be a HBP specialist like Quentin, you can't flip the fuck out just because a certain pitcher has hit you 3 times. Of course you are going to get hit a lot if you keep doing it on purpose.

Was Quentin really so stupid to think that Greinke was hitting him intentionally in a 1-run game in the 6th inning? I mean, seriously.... The guy would have a point if the Dodgers were up 8-0, but 2-1?!

BTW, Quentin also charged Greinke because he was bigger and not afraid of him. Don Drysdale used to maliciously nail opposing hitters all the time, but he was rarely challenged because he was a big, strong motherfucker. It's a lot easier to charge the mound when your opponent in the fight is Zac Greinke.

The problem with Kemp is that he's super-emotional.

While he's a great guy to cheer for the team and get everyone fired up (especially when things are going well for him), he also becomes a victim of his own emotions when things aren't going so well.

Prior to his huge 2011, he almost demanded to be traded when GM Ned Colletti publicly called him out for supposedly not hustling. I thought Colletti was an idiot to do that (especially because Matt's overall numbers were good at the time, even for that particular year), but Kemp was super-butthurt about it and took it REALLY personally.

Kemp has not been the same since last year's injury. First it was because he came back while still in pain, and tried to play through it. Then he hit really poorly as a result, and suddenly it got into his head that he can't hit anymore. Now he has no confidence and you can tell he's constantly stressing out that he needs to perform. That just compounds the problem.

Kemp has a ton of talent but his own emotions are his biggest enemy.

I think it's quite obvious, judging from his body language immediately following the pitch, that Greinke did not hit him on purpose.

I laughed when I read the bolded part. Don't you remember when Reggie Sanders, playing for Cincinnati, charged Pedro Martinez after being hit with one out in the eighth with an 0-2 count & while he was throwing a PERFECT GAME. Most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Reggie Sanders was suspended for 5 games if I remember correctly. If I was Martinez I'd have plunked him every time after that.

This is the biggest, these 2 guys hate each other already.
maybe next time Grienke hits someone that he has history with on accident (that has 50 lbs on him), he won't eye ball the guy and talk shit like he did.

doc Halladay can't even hit 90MPH on the gun anymore. My Phillies are toast.

The good news is, Chase Utley is back to being the best 2nd Basemen in the MLB

and Dom Brown is finally living up to his hype

That's Tommy, you have to love the guy, he roots for LA and LA only.

He is at the dodger games often, my friend has seats behind him,
He wouldn't sign this like 10 yr old's magazine, because he had a Giant jersey on.
We all (lot of Giant fans in that area) piled on, in total fun.
I don't want to say he buckled, but he did sign the kid's magazine.

So this kid ended up w/Lasorda, CP3, and Eric Dickerson autograph on the same page.
    Interesting combination.
