These types of charges are pretty much impossible to fight. Everything is on video, and every word spoken by the undercover cops is carefully worded to insure conviction.
I agree that a statement is the wrong way to go about this though. Keep that shit under wraps and let everyone play the guessing game IMO. Famous people always feel they need to fix their image ASAP, and most of the time it's the wrong move.
